Plot[]
The episode started with a clip of Lou Jitsu until Splinter paused the TV to give out a fun fact. The turtles are annoyed at this. Suddenly, Donnie announced that the original actor of Jupiter Jim is gonna be in Galaxy Con. Leo gets so excited because is like a father figure to him. Splinter however disapproves saying that he can’t lift a lobster.
At Galaxy Con, the turtles wearing their costumes like in Times Square started to explore the building. Leo then spotted a man at the empty hallway and they began to greet him. Leo doesn’t know what to say and Raph informs Mr. Moncrief that he is a big fan. The man asked if they wanted to come to his headquarters, his apartment when Leo asked for a harpoon ray. Leo is excited but Raph seems concerned.
As they arrive at the apartment, the turtles are amazed that the room is a space themed station. Moncrief then revealed that he put on his Jupiter Jim outfit much to their amazement. He shows them his collection of weapons and finds the harpoon ray. Leo wants to try it but he accidentally fires it and strikes Mikey’s helmet, making it burst into a little flame. Raph looked concerned and asked if the laser was real. Yet, the snapper said that they are done but Mikey said they haven’t seen the Hall of Victory. Donnie and Raph decided to stay here while Mikey and Leo followed Marcus. They looked around and recognized the exhibits, the mech Crushasaurus and the one exhibit that is left. As they stare at it, Leo and Mikey get pinched and frozen by Marcus who revealed his true colors.
Raph continued to search around, complaining that all of the stuff looks cool, including a Statue of Red Fox. He added that it looks real, but suddenly it blinks, making them yell in surprise. In realization, they saw that the statues were actually people in costumes. Raph realized that Moncreif thinks he’s Jupiter Jim and captured all the people. Finally, they realized Mikey and Leo are in trouble. They head to the Hall of Victory and ask Leo where Moncrief is. Moncrief appears wearing the mech suit, ready to capture the turtles to complete his exhibit. Donnie asked Leo what he has to do and the slider strained with words that the answer is in the comic. Donnie looked through the comic and found a reverse pinch technique. He began to use the skill and managed to unfreeze and free Leo and Mikey. But then, Raph, Donnie and Mikey are captured, making Leo the only one left standing.
Leo began to think it over and decided that they should act like real aliens. He pretended that he would threaten to shoot Moncrief. The man begged him not to shoot as he dropped his brothers. The slider said that it doesn’t have to be that and tells him that the species have been at war before telling him to bring peace to them. Moncreif accepts the peace offering while Raph tells him that the people are in villain costumes. After all the people were freed, the turtles began to head home.
In the lair, Splinter is greeted by his sons as they explain that they always have a hero like him. Splinter began to feel happy that his sons wanted to hear more about Lou Jitsu as the episode ended.
Trivia[]
- The guest banner of Marcus Moncrief at Galaxy Con features two alien turtles bearing uncanny likenesses to Raph and Leo.
- As Splinter lists off the names of the stunt performers, he mentions a Josh, Omar, Brandon, Ben, Kat, and Rob. This is a direct nod to some of the show's voice castmates and voice director. Splinter also mentions an Andrea in reference to the show's associate casting director, Andrea Hennen, and a Ryker, which is also the name of Eric Bauza's son.
- One of Marcus' window displays are characters from Cosmic Scoundrel (a webcomic series created by Andy Suriano).
- This is the last 11-minute episode of season 1.
Errors[]
- When Marcus reaches into his cabinet of weapons, he is seen wearing his flower shirt. However, in the next shot, he is back in his Jupiter Jim costume.
