Dr. Jonathan Crane a.k.a. the Scarecrow is a psychology professor-turned-supervillain and an enemy in The Batman's rogue's gallery.
History[]
Greener on the Other Side[]
Batman, Leonardo and Raphael, they find the streets of the East Village choked with a strange gas and everyone hallucinating. Batman puts on a gas mask and tells the Turtles to stay on the rooftops while he tries to control the panicked crowd. He warns them to keep an eye out for a man dressed like a scarecrow and then leaps down to the street below. Before the Turtles can ponder what that means, the gas hits them and they begin to hallucinate their worst fears: Raphael sees Leonardo as a giant cockroach and Leonardo sees Raphael as a shambling zombie. They begin to panic when a man calls from the stairwell, telling them to get inside quickly. They comply, unaware that the man is Jonathan Crane: The Scarecrow.
Epilogue: The Terror of the Kraang[]
When The Kraang invade Gotham City, Batman and Raphael pay a visit to Jonathan Crane, who is back in his cell in the Arkham Asylum. The Scarecrow shares with them the information that he has filled with blimps on the police dirigibles with a special Fear Gas that will affect the Kraang. This Fear Gas, released over the city, causes the Kraang to hallucinate their worst fears, and they quickly race back through the portals to Dimension X.
