Jigsaw is the current leader of the Purple Dragons, as of the events of Lost Day Special, having disposed of their previous leader, Scuzball.
History[]
Jigsaw was a soldier from Texas who did three combat tours overseas before being discharged. At some point, he came to New York City and became a member of the Purple Dragons. Between the last time that April had encountered the Dragons and her black market run with her grandchildren, Jigsaw overthrew Scuzball and took over the gang, honing them with his military experience.
April and the Turtles arrived to engage in a barter with the Dragons, when they were attacked by Bonzo, Chachi, and Monarch, who indicated that since Scuzball was not in charge anymore, April's deal with him was void. The Turtles fight off the three to protect their grandmother, before Jigsaw shows up and puts an end to the fight. He introduces himself and alludes to what happened to Scuzball, as well as letting April know that he knew of her via reputation beforehand. Jigsaw brings them into the Purple Dragon compound and tries to install the record player needle that April had brought as part of the barter, but is frustrated with his inability to. Yi tells him he's doing it wrong and puts it together for him, impressing Jigsaw with not only the kids' combat ability, but their ingenuity as well.
Jigsaw hands April a box of doughnuts as his part of the barter, honoring what she had set up with Scuzball regardless of the change in regime. Before they leave, however, he says next time they meet, bartering might not be all they end up doing. April considers this a not-so-veiled threat and notes that the Dragons had always been a problem but under previous leadership, they were sloppy and unskilled. Under Jigsaw's militaristic control, they might be a bigger issue.
Later, Dick Miller and Frank Corben tell April they know of Jigsaw and his status as a threat, but he pales in comparison to Joe Hades and the mafia. Lost Day Special
