Ivan Steranko was a Russian arms dealer who was mutated into an anthropomorphic rhinoceros, now going by "Rocksteady". He is frequently paired with Anton Zeck, also known as Bebop, who he had previously done business with.

This version of Steranko is branched off from his original version in the 2012 TV series. His history before the events of Panini comics is the same as that of his animated version.

Appearance[]

Mutant[]

As Rocksteady, Steranko is a large humanoid mutant white rhinoceros with his shoulder pads (which assumed a different shape and sprouted a third spike) and the tops of his knuckle dusters melted onto his body. After this mutation, Rocksteady wears a tank top, brown bandoliers, and camouflage pants which had somehow appeared on him after his mutation.

History[]

Bad Science![]

Rocksteady makes his debut in Bad Science!. He and Bebop kidnap Michelangelo under the mistaken impression that he is the "smart one". Incensed at their insults to his intelligence after they learn the truth, Mikey insists that he was the one who invented the retro-mutagen that they want so badly. Mikey proceeds to create formula after formula in an attempt to prove his point. However, each formula he tests on the pair produces unpleasant results. A final explosion blows the pair through a window and they run off into the night.

Secret Weapon X[]

A pair of Purple Dragons are preparing to attack the Turtles when they overhear them talking about a new 'secret weapon'. Worried that this weapon could prove extremely destructive, they pass the story on to Hun. Hun passes it to Fishface, who tells Rocksteady, who then tells Tiger Claw. The story grows with each telling until Tiger Claw adds his embellishment as he tells the Shredder, who declares that the weapon shall be his. He gathers a small army, which includes Rocksteady, and goes out to confront the Turtles. They all quickly learn that playing the 'telephone game' usually means something innocuous becomes very exaggerated.
