Summary[]

In London, at the British Museum of Sciences, a teacher leads a group of her students past numerous exhibits. She urges them to hurry, as the museum is about to close and they have still to visit the new wing. A young boy asks what there is to see there and she tells him it is an invention of Thomas Edison’s that has just been found. They approach the device and she calls it the Thermionic Accumulator. She explains that it emits electrons by heating a metal resistor. Another youngster asks if Edison is not famous for inventing another accumulator. The teacher says yes, but until recently, no one knew of the existence of this one. Everyone thinks that the one they are seeing is much more powerful than the other.

Shredder says that this is what he believes too, as he along with some of his Piede Ninjia suddenly arrive. He intends to take it into himself and in the meantime, they will keep him company. Shredder says that this accumulator will allow him to rule the world. One boy comments on a device that’s a century old. Shredder says that no one knows its potential. With a small modification, he will make it a very powerful generator of electromagnetic pulse able to block all computers on Earth. Entire nations will fall into paralysis without computers and because their functioning will depend on him, everything will be in his hands.

April O'Neil reports live from the museum on the entire class of children held hostage inside the British Museum. She says that the identity of the criminals is unknown, but there are fears for the lives of the children. In the lair, the Tartarughes have been watching her broadcast. When Michelangelo asks if his brothers heard her, Raffaello says yes, and who knows what the intentions of the criminals are. Leonardo says it’s surely nothing good and calls their attention to who he sees at a museum window. It is one of Shredder’s henchmen. Raf leads the way out of the lair, telling his brothers that London is waiting for them.

A few hours later, in London, April is standing next to a distinguished looking man and she comments on how long the criminals have been locked inside. As the Tartarughes run towards her, Donatello says that it’s time to find them out and that’s why they are there. April greets them and says she was really hoping they would come. She introduces the man as Mr. Bloom, the director of the museum. He tells the Tartarughes that he’s heard a lot about them. Don asks for a situation update. April answers that the place is full of Piede Ninjia and they must not jeopardize the hostages’ lives.

Miky asks if there’s another way to enter the building without being seen. Mr. Bloom tells him that the only way would be to go through the sewers. Looking over at his brothers, Miky says that they are used to that environment. Mr. Bloom hands them a map of the museum’s underground and April urges them to be careful. Leo replies that danger is their job. As Raf lowers himself into a manhole, he says he hopes that London’s sewers are cleaner than New York’s. When he reaches the bottom of the ladder, however, he makes a sound of displeasure and says “never mind”. Using the map, Miky leads the way and soon reaches another ladder, which he is sure leads to the correct exit.

The Tartarughes jockey for position on the ladder, fussing at each other to move. Miky shoves open the manhole cover and strikes a Piede Ninjia with it. Leaping out of the manhole, Miky socks the man and knocks him out. Don says they have to find the hostages and Miky tells them he hears voices coming from a nearby room. As they line up along the wall, Raf peers around the corner and sees sentinels on guard in the corridor. Leo asks if his brothers are ready. The Tartarughes leap and quickly defeat the group guarding a door. Miky smashes the door open and the children run out. They tell the Tartarughes to watch out and that there’s no time to waste. One of the boys tells Donatello that the guy in there is turning Edison’s generator into a machine to block all the computers on Earth.

Handing the map to the teacher, Miky tells her they must get out as soon as possible. He explains that there is an open manhole in the other room and to follow the map to escape. Then the Tartarughes turn to deal with Shredder, but armed Piede Ninja block the way and ask where they think they are going. As Raf delivers a kick to the face, he tells the man that he’s really curious. The Tartarughes quickly defeat the other ninja and Shredder calls out to ask what’s happening.

Miky calls out that they came to pay Shredder a visit. Shredder exclaims that they are party poopers and that he was almost finished. Raf and Leo grab him, twisting his arms behind his back as they pull him away from the device. Miky says that even as it hurts his heart, the accumulator must be destroyed. Don agrees, saying that otherwise, someone may want to try again. Miky and Leo use their weapons to smash the accumulator into small pieces. Then they notice there is something inside. Leo lifts a machine and says he can’t believe it, but it’s the ancestor of a compact disc player. They are surprised as they thought Edison had only invented the phonograph. Leo says that at least this way, the museum will have something to exhibit in the new wing.
