O'Shea Jackson Sr. (born June 15, 1969; 56 years old), known professionally by his stage name as Ice Cube, is an American actor, rapper and filmmaker who voiced Superfly in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
His first claim to prominence was one of the founding members of the pioneer rap group N.W.A. in the late 1980s, starting with their debut album he contributed, Straight Outta Compton. Following the group's dissolution, the success of his music career would later have him moving into acting for film and television, as his acting debut was in the 1991 Oscar-nominated coming-of-age drama, Boyz n the Hood. His later starring roles for film include Higher Learning, Anaconda, Three Kings, Are We There Yet?, XXX: State of the Union, and comedy franchises such as Friday, Barbershop, Ride Along and 21 Jump Street.
He is the father of actor O'Shea Jackson Jr., who made his film debut portraying his parent in the 2015 biopic, Straight Outta Compton, named after the album.
