Hun is a recurring antagonist from the 2003 series of Ninja Turtles. He has appeared in many of the 2003 games except for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus (Game Boy Advance).

Appearances[]

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles[]

Console[]

If playing the first stage as Raphael (by Player 1), Hun is first alluded to in a flashback from Casey Jones, who explains that Purple Dragons burned down his father's shop. One of the Purple Dragons who confronts Casey is a young Hun.

Serving under the command of Oroku Saki, Hun is put in charge of an army of Foot Ninja for various operations. He first is encountered by the Turtles during a Warehouse raid, where Hun also commands a number of Purple Dragons to attack the Turtles alongside Foot Ninja. Hun next commands a Foot Clan army to rob a museum housing the Goblin Blade.

Hun is encountered once more inside Shredder's Tower, this time he confronts the Turtles face-to face as a boss. However, he is only fought if Player 1 is Michelangelo or Casey Jones. Hun is at the beginning of the first area, which is the entrance. Because of this, the Elite Foot Ninja fought at the end of the area will not appear. Hun is accompanied by the usual pair of Foot Tech Ninja that guard the entrance. Hun uses basic fighting combo strings similar to playable characters. His aerial attack involves a cannonball pummel, this leaves him vulnerable for a few seconds once he lands. One of his attacks involves him spinning around with his two arms outward. When Hun has about 1/3 of his health remaining, he will be knocked down, but once he gets back up, he will be in a rage mode where his skin turns red. When in rage mode, his overall attack speed increases and he is immune to knockdowns and flinching but can still be damaged. The rage mode lasts until he is defeated.

Once Hun is defeated and the remaining stages are cleared in the same playthrough, he will be unlocked for Vs. Mode playability. When Hun is unlocked, a stage accompanied with him is also unlocked in Vs. Mode: Trap Corridor. Hun does not possess a rage mode in VS. Mode. Unique to Hun is that his character select artwork is properly mirrored: his scars only appear on Player 2's character select artwork and are not seen by Player 1's artwork due to him facing right.

Game Boy Advance[]

Hun appears as the penultimate boss in the GBA game. After defeating all enemies in the elevator, Hun appears and attacks with punches and a stomp that can damage the turtles when they are standing on the ground. When his energy is low, Hun attacks with grenades.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus[]

Hun appears as the first boss of the story, fighting the Turtles within the Shinto Palace. He fights similar to his previous appearance in the first 2003 console game. This time, however, he loses his aerial attack but possesses a new attack where he can pound the ground, causing the ceiling to produce harmful falling rubble that attempts to fall on top of a player. This attack grants Hun a ranged option, with him yelling out "Now be crushed!". Hun's rage mode is different here; he now has a sort of buildup of rage when attacked, with attacks varying in how much his rage builds up. When Hun is a strong shade of red, he unleashes one of his attacks that delivers more damage than normal. After using this attack, his rage is released.

Hun is later encountered within the Freighter Kuraiyama. During the cutscene, he encounters the Turtles, Splinter, and Zog (whom he calls a Dragon), within the Weapons Hangar. During the battle, Hun is assisted by an infinite number of Foot Mechs. He is more aggressive than from the first battle, has more health, gains a new attack when he grabs a character and throws him/her across the room, regains his cannonball pummel-like aerial attack, and can now block. When his health gets very low, Hun will enter a permanent rage mode similar to the one from the first game where he cannot be knocked down or even flinch from attacks. When steam comes off of him, he will use a random attack that inflicts great damage. Once the battle is over, a CG cutscene plays where Hun is seen crashing through the control room's window, falling to the floor of the storage hangar below.

Hun also is a competitor in the game's Battle Nexus mode, under the "Foot Fight" bracket.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Mutant Nightmare[]

Hun appears as a boss in the home console version of Mutant Nightmare, being one of the bosses of Episode 3, fought after Oroku Saki is defeated. Hun is fought within a launch control room, a square mid-sized room. His moveset is generally identical to Battle Nexus, though his ranged attack has been removed. He still can produce a ground pound with a mid-sized shockwave capable of inflicting high knockback. His arm spin attack has a slight arc to it, which aids him in turning while moving forward. When most of his health is depleted, he once again enters rage mode and can no longer flinch or be knocked down.

Once defeated, a CG cutscene plays where a downed Hun gets back up and attempts to tackle the four Turtles. The Turtles move out of the way and Hun crashes through the window, plummeting toward the bottom of the Missile silo. As he falls, he says his catchphrase "Oh crud!", before a white fadeout appears as he falls. What became of Hun afterward is unknown.

TMNT: Mutant Melee[]

Hun is a playable fighter in Vs. Mode. Additionally, his younger flashback self is playable.

Other games[]

Hun is also the second boss in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Battle for the City.

Hun is also the first boss in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Double Damage.

Hun's final appearance in a video game was in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Arcade Attack, where he uses a bazooka during his boss fight.

Trivia[]
