Hook-Hand Mitch is a character from a horror movie watched by the Turtles in the Saturday Morning Adventures comic series.
History[]
On Halloween night, the Turtles are staying in the lair and watching a horror movie. The main character, Hook-Hand Mitch, terrorizes a group of teenagers who are seated around a campfire. He chases the teens with his chainsaw and an anxious Michelangelo yells for them to run faster because Hook-Hand Mitch can't be stopped. The other Turtles are not as into the film as their brother. Donatello wonders how Hook-Hand Mitch is even working a chainsaw with hooks for hands, since you need thumbs. Raphael points out that one of the kids is running like he wants to be caught. Leonardo theorizes that the kid must have strategy. Suddenly, the television snaps off and Splinter tells the Turtles that horror movie teenagers have no strategy, only fear. Fear, he reminds them, cannot hurt you, but it can make you rush into a mistake that will. Mikey compliments his sensei on the radical lesson and then pleads to be allowed to see how they get away from Hook-Hand Mitch. Splinter tells him to use his imagination and to go out on patrol.
While out on patrol, they are kidnapped by Creepy Eddie and taken to Nightmareland. One of the nightmares they step into while following the yellow brick road takes them to a black-and-white village, where they go to a castle to save a maiden. There, Dr. Madscience sics a number of monsters on the Turtles and one of those monsters is Hook-Hand Mitch. Donatello has the idea to forget about the laws of physics and try lucid dreaming. Mikey uses this tactic on Hook-Hand Mitch by spinning his nunchaku to create blasts of ice that freeze the horror movie monster.
