Herman the Horrible is a robot appearing in the 1987 TV series. It appears in the episode Planet of the Turtleoids, and resembles a two-headed dragon. The robot is piloted by Bork and Dwork.[1]

History

The two-headed dragon Herman terrorized the capital of the planet Shell-Ri-La to get to the gold reserves and the Gold Machine of the Turtleoids. While a force field saved the city from destruction, it grew weaker with each attack by Herman the Horrible. The Turtleoids High Council decided to send their member Kerma to Earth as they were considering migrating there to be safe from Herman's pursuit.

Kerma returned with the Turtles, but the Turtles explained to the High Council that relocation to Earth was not a good idea, but promised help against Herman. Councilors Dwork and Bork, however, accused the Turtles of being spies and troublemakers and had them arrested. While the Turtles were in custody, Dirtbag and Groundchuck, who were abducted with the Turtles and were able to flee, allied with Herman, who promised the two the land of their dreams in return for their services.

But while Herman was taking a nap in his cave, Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raphael sneaked in to sabotage his weapons. Dirtbag and Groundchuck managed to get into the city through a false peace offer to deactivate the shield generator, and thus facilitate the attack for Herman.

As expected, Herman returned, only to find that his weapons were now inoperable. By successfully destroying the shield generator, Herman managed to invade the city; during the ensuing battle, however, the Turtles discovered that Herman was actually a mobile robot controlled by Dwork and Bork, who wanted to use the gold-making machine to amass personal wealth.
