Hellio's is a fictional brand of frozen pizza appearing in the 2012 TV series. It makes sporadic appearances throughout the series, mostly in the Turtle Lair Kitchen freezer, but most of the pizza eaten by the Turtles is from Antonio's Pizza-Rama. Hellio's comes to greatest prominence during the O'Neil Farmhouse episodes of early season 3, where it becomes the only pizza they're seen eating. Michelangelo also uses boxes of Hellio's as ice packs when taking Ice Cream Kitty on long road trips, as seen in "The Invasion, Part 2". The biggest noticeable difference in the appearance of Hellio's pizza is that its slices are rectangular-shaped. There are 9 slices in each box.
Trivia[]
- The brand is a parody of Ellio's Pizza, a frozen pizza brand owned and distributed by Dr. Oetker (previously McCain Food until 2014) that marketed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles frozen pizzas in the late 1980's and early 1990's.
- The brand also parodied Domino's Pizza because the rectangular slice of pepperoni pizza breaking into halves on the box looks like the Domino's Pizza symbol, which the turtles did ordered a pizza from Domino's in the first movie from the original live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film series.
- The company owns Hellio's, MacGregor (parody of Ellio's previous owner, McCain) is a reference to the 2012 series' producer, MacGregor Middleton.
