Four hang gliders are used by the Turtles in the 1987 cartoon episode Northern Lights Out. They use it to rescue April and Professor Sven Svenson from a sinking ship before battling Eric the Red-Eye and his henchmen in Norway.
Donatello fashions the hang gliders from the solar sail previously on the Viking longship. The Turtles release the hang gliders once they reach the top of the volcano.
