In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Panini), Hamato Yoshi, also known as Splinter, is a former human, now a mutant rat. He is the adoptive father and ninja master of his four mutant turtle sons Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo.
This version of Hamato Yoshi is branched off from his previous version in the 2012 TV series. His history before the events of the Panini comics is the same as that of his animated version, and remains similar in many ways after the continuity split.
History[]
Takeout[]
Splinter debuts in Takeout, greeting his sons after their misadventures topside as they are trying to bring pizza home for their dinner. He praises them for putting the needs of others before their own and says that they should seek wisdom from an "ancient scroll" which he hands to Leonardo. When Leo opens the scroll he find that it's a delivery menu for Mancini's.
Taken[]
In Taken, Splinter advises Raphael and Michelangelo on how Spike might actually feel about being in the lair chewing on a leaf rather than exploring the outside world.
Sleepwalking Sensei[]
Splinter has completed his five days of sleep deprivation to increase his endurance in Sleepwalking Sensei. With his training done, he is going to rest and he expects complete silence from his sons. Splinter stresses that he must not be disturbed. A short while after retiring, Splinter suddenly appears and heads topside, clearly sleepwalking. The Turtles follow him, afraid of what might happen to Splinter and also afraid to awaken him after his previous warning. Splinter has many adventures, encounters some of their enemies, and sleep fights them - defeating everyone he runs across. He finally returns to the lair after an entire night of roaming the city.
Game Over![]
Splinter is disappointed with his sons after a training session which included April O'Neil. They tell him they are just tired because all four have become obsessed with a game they play on their T-Phones. Splinter tells them all to immediately delete the game, which of course they do not do, with unfortunate results.
