Hamato Yoshi was the greatest ninja in all of the Foot Clan, but his rival fought him for the love of Yoshi's wife, Tang Shen. Yoshi fled to New York City with Shen and their pet rat after killing this rival , but the rival's brother Oroku Saki tracked down Yoshi and Shen and killed them, leaving the rat alone to live.
