Synopsis[]
In Central Park, Michelangelo reviews with Raphael the fact that Snakeweed is back and has teamed up with “some lady with leaves for pants” as the two engage in a battle against Snakeweed. Fighting alongside the turtles and April O'Neil are Batman and his family.
At the docks on the Lower West Side, the Shredder is flanked by Tiger Claw, Rahzar, Fishface and Baxter Stockman, while Bebop and Rocksteady lay unconscious at his feet. He asks what the The Joker's demands are, and the Clown Prince of Crime claims he’s thinking along the lines of a mutual relationship. When Shredder doesn’t respond to that, the Joker says he’ll take the whole city.
Shredder’s mutants start to move forward and Joker notes that he’s brought his whole dysfunctional family along. He offers to shake hands with Shredder, though there is a buzzer in his palm, but Shredder ignores the outstretched hand. It’s then that Joker hits Shredder with a burst of Joker gas and the villain falls to the floor in a laughing fit. Joker then approaches Stockman and asks where he can get some mutants of his own.
Back in Central Park, Leonardo tells Michelangelo to get his head in the game, then tells Batman that his people should go for Snakeweed’s heart, because that’s his weak spot. Just as Leonardo says that a shield drops downs over the exposed heart. Donatello says that he’s adapting and evolving, but Batgirl says that he’s not the one doing the evolving.
Batman says they’ll keep Snakeweed busy and orders Robin and Raphael to go find Poison Ivy since she's the one controlling Snakeweed. The two hunt her down but are immediately ensnared by vines. Robin manages to use a batarang to cut Raphael free and the Turtle tackles Poison Ivy into a nearby lake, holding her underwater until she falls unconscious.
Once that happens, Snakeweed collapses and the fight ends. Raph carries Poison Ivy to The Kraang portal back to Gotham, but as soon as he puts her through, the portal closes.
At the lair, the two families mingle, with Robin trying to learn everyone’s names. Batman tries to learn from Leonardo what he knows about the portals. Michelangelo tries comparing his superhero exploits to Robin’s, while Donatello attempts to flirt with Batgirl again. April doesn’t notice because she seems fixated on Robin, while Raphael finds it all very awkward.
Master Splinter’s arrival startles Batgirl and Donatello tells her he is their dad. Splinter turns on the television to a relevant news report. As reported by Carlos Chiang O'Brien Gambe, the East Village is under attack from various strange apparitions. Donatello gets a hit on his tracking device and learns that Kraang portals are opening in Chinatown. Batman orders the team to split up; he will take Leonardo and Raphael with him to the Village and everyone else will investigate Chinatown.
Michelangelo, Donatello, April, Robin and Batgirl take the Shellraiser to Chinatown where they find Footbot Soldiers with creepy smiles painted on their faces.
As for Batman, Leonardo and Raphael, they find the streets of the East Village choked with a strange gas and everyone hallucinating. Batman puts on a gas mask and tells the Turtles to stay on the rooftops while he tries to control the panicked crowd. He warns them to keep an eye out for a man dressed like a scarecrow and then leaps down to the street below.
Before the Turtles can ponder what that means, the gas hits them and they begin to hallucinate their worst fears: Raphael sees Leonardo as a giant cockroach and Leonardo sees Raphael as a shambling zombie. They begin to panic when a man calls from the stairwell, telling them to get inside quickly. They comply, unaware that the man is Jonathan Crane: The Scarecrow.
