Synopsis[]

Open on Donatello, seated at his computers in the lair. He silently laments the fact that New York City never sleeps and though his brothers love all the distractions, he does not. He has work to do and he needs space to think. Suddenly, Michelangelo calls out to ask if he's still stuck on that level. Don informs him that he's working on an algorithm that will help them track all crime reports in the city. As Don continues to talk about how he's been working on it for three days, Mikey sneaks a slice of pizza out of the box next to his brother. When Mikey leaves Don's room, Leonardo asks if Don is coming on patrol with them, but Raphael says he's not holding his breath. Splinter expresses concern over the amount of time Don spends in that room and that he needs fresh air. Raph and Mikey begin to discuss the fact that the younger Turtle stole Don's pizza, but Leo interrupts them to announce that it's time for patrol.

Oblivious to their departure, Don thinks about his brothers and how much he relies on them. He flashes back to encounters they've had with Shredder, Casey Jones and Krang. Don decides that they don't need him and that he's more use here, on the screens. His train of thought abruptly stops and he calls out in surprise at something on the computer. Splinter enters the room to learn what's wrong, and Don tells him that he was tracking the guys, but they all of a sudden disappeared. He begins talking fast about all the things he's tried to do to find them and then admits he doesn't know what else to do. Splinter tells him to breathe and that the only solution does not lie in the cleanliness of his computers. Don must get his hands dirty in order to help his brothers.

Admitting to himself that his father is right, Don heads to the surface, to the location where he lost contact with his brothers. He looks through an open warehouse skylight to see the others battling a raging Leatherhead and realizes that they need a ninja, not a keyboard warrior. Donatello's mind continues to process the dynamics of their team as the four Turtles banter and battle Leatherhead. As he contemplates how working in isolation has left him vulnerable to blind spots, he doesn't see Leatherhead's tail whipping around towards his face.

//:Reboot. Don opens his eyes and then sits up to rub his head, saying that he thinks he's figured it out. Raph scoffs and says they managed to work it out without him, but Don says not the fight, the other thing. He then asks if everyone is okay. Raph indicates Leatherhead, who has been subdued, tied up, and hung upside down from the ceiling. He tells Don that Leatherhead laughed so hard after knocking him unconscious, he let his guard down. Leo apologizes for pulling Donnie away from his work, but Don says he shouldn't have left them in the first place. Besides, he adds, getting out helped him clear his head. Mikey asks if anyone is hungry and as they leave the building, Don answers that he is. He ordered pizza earlier, but it disappeared and Mikey says he wonders how that happened.

As they jump across rooftops, Don thinks about how it's okay to be on your own, but sometimes it's good to be pulled away. To get some perspective and get distracted - especially when those distractions are only a few feet away.
