Synopsis[]
A traffic light turns green and Raphael impatiently urges April to go. The four Turtles are seated in April’s van as she drives them through the city. April tells the Turtles that they could benefit from slowing down occasionally, to enjoy the sights. Raph counters that if you slow down in this city, it throws something at you, and Michelangelo agrees.
Suddenly, something flashes past and then the van is hit, jolting the occupants. Leonardo asks if everyone is okay. Donatello says that for those who are opposed to bank robberies and multi-car accidents, everything is not okay. He peers out through the open door of the van and watches a truck speed down the street, leaving behind a trail of cash. With a determined look on her face, April tells the guys to buckle up. She steps on the gas and begins pursuing the truck.
In the back of the truck is a sack of money, with loose bills flying out of it. The sack is guarded by Mousers and the truck is being driven by Baxter Stockman. He seems unsurprised that the Turtles and April are behind him and comments aloud that they proceed as planned. Stockman then orders his Mousers to tear the van apart.
The Turtles quickly realize that Stockman is the one responsible for the chaos, and they too are unsurprised by that fact. As April races to keep up with the truck, the Turtles battle Mousers on top of her van. When Raph comments that he’d like to see a baddie learn a new trick, Leo replies that the Mousers’ green lights are new. Mikey finds that to be an upgrade, but Don believes the change isn’t cosmetic. April calls out to Don that she can’t keep up with Stockman because whenever he passes a stoplight… Don completes the sentence for her, guessing that the stoplights are turning green. He tells April that he’s on it and to keep her eyes on the road.
Though the back of a jolting van isn’t the best place for a dissection, Don begins examining one of the Mousers. Leo leans down from the roof and asks if he can make sense of it. Don tells him that Stockman appears to have wired the Mousers with a signal to reprogram the traffic lights. When he drives through an intersection, the lights on all sides switch to green. Mikey thinks that’s not a bad strategy, but a grinning Don says unless someone rewires Stockman’s handiwork. He makes a finishing touch to his rewiring job and shouts to April that the coast is clear.
April tells the Turtles to hang on as she hits the gas pedal. When she nears the truck, the Turtles leap onto it. Stockman panics and slams into a light post. Standing on the hood of the truck, Leo offers Stockman a piece of advice. He tells the man that he could really benefit from slowing down every once in a while. As hundred-dollar bills flutter around them, Mikey asks if they aren’t allowed to keep any of it for pizza money. Leo tells him no.
