Green Horn is a mutant rhinoceros who is a member of the Conservation Corps. He was mutated by an Enviro-Pod, which also gave him chlorokinetic powers.

The Enviro-Pods bring Green Horn and the other animals mutated by the pods to Benevolence, the apparently dying alien who sent out the pods. He charges them with using their powers to protect the Earth's environment.

When a giant mutant duck, Oily Bird, attacks the Ninja Turtles and Splinter as they try to clean up an oil spill in the ocean, Cudley the Cowlick, who had seen the Conservation Corps earlier in the day, went to fetch them to help. However, the Corps mistook Cudley as an ecological abomination and attack him. In response, Cudley simply scoops them up in his mouth and spits them out at the location of the spill. When they arrive, they find that Splinter has sunk into the ocean and Donatello was attempting to retrieve him while the others fought off Oily Bird. After Water Buffalo, another member of the Corps saved them, Splinter suggested the two teams align to defeat Oily Bird. The duck spits up a bunch more oil and flies off in search of stealing Benevolence's power, but leaves four oil leaks across the world to keep the heroes busy.

Green Horn and Leonardo set off for the Amazon River Basin, where the leak has started a forest fire. Leo works on fighting the fire, while Green Horn rescues the wildlife endangered by the fire. Green Horn then uses his powers to plug the oil leak with wood.

The two teams reconvene at the South Pole, where Oily Bird creates a massive explosion that sends Earth hurtling toward the Sun. Benevolence, with the last of his power, crashes his ship into Oily Bird, knocking him out and restoring the Earth's orbit at the expense of losing his ship. He then asks Cudley to take him and Oily Bird back to his home planet of Danopaulus so he can die at home and since the planet is beyond saving, Oily Bird can no longer cause any harm.

The Corps then go off to search for their lost fifth member.
