In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Volume 3 by Image Comics, the Dragonlord a.k.a. Warlord Go-Komodo, was the owner of Komodo Industries, an organization run in upstate New York.
History[]
Go-Komodo comes from an ancient line of Japanese rulers and is the last survivor of the House of Komodo, which was considered extinct since the First World War. According to one legend, Go-Komodo's family descended from dragons; This was fueled by his own psychic ability, which allowed him to communicate with reptiles and thus keep dangerous Komodo dragons as pets. Go-Komodo was the head of Komodo Industries in New York, but his plan was to gain control of Japan. Obsessed with the family legend, he developed a desire to transform himself into a dragon in order to conform to his ideal image. His DNA gave him this ability; but a flaw in his genetic structure meant that Komodo could not transform into a true dragon, but only into a Komodo dragon; a fact that was known only to his closest followers, so as not to destroy the legend of his lineage - and thus his legitimacy. For this reason, Komodo commissioned the kunoichi Pimiko to capture various animal-like mutants whose genes he wanted to use to perfect his ability to transform; but most of the captured “experimental subjects” turned out to be merely “fakes.” Eventually, Pimiko was able to kidnap the mutant rat Splinter, who proved to be the perfect source of genes for Komodo; but with this act he turned the Turtles against him. As a result, there were several clashes between Go-Komodo's people, Pimiko's fighters and cyborgs, and the Turtles, who were looking for their master.TMNT Vol. 3, #1- 5
Eventually, the Turtles traced their sensei's trail back to Go-Komodo's estate. During the ensuing conflict, in which Pimiko turned against Go-Komodo for personal reasons, one of Go-Komodo's Komodo dragons, later known as King Komodo, was accidentally injected with a mutagen test drug.[2] Go-Komodo demanded that his "brother" not kill the Turtles as he wanted their blood to perfect himself; but the mutant Komodo dragon was shot down by the cyborg-converted Donatello. Go-Komodo, aware of his imminent defeat, triggered the self-destruction of his headquarters and retreated to one of his branches in Taiwan. In the final series Urban Legends, written decades later, Go-Komodo returns to New York, where he turns out to be Pimiko's uncle. Her mother, Kujikiri, was once the infamous assassin "Headhunter" who, after an unsuccessful attack on the Shredder, became involved with him[6] and fathered a daughter that she did not want. Go-Komodo, on the other hand, who saw Pimiko's bloodline as an opportunity to further expand his power base, had his niece trained as a kunoichi. With the support of King Komodo, who had returned to him, and the Lady Shredder, Go-Komodo began secretly working to create an army of mutants and cyborgs with whom he would finally make his plans of conquest a reality.[8] But when the Turtles and Pimiko, led by Cheng, attacked his new headquarters, King Komodo revealed to his "brother" that the mutagen in his blood had made him much more intelligent and sensible and no longer wanted to subordinate himself to him. Through the telepathic link they shared, King Komodo forced Go-Komodo to assume his Komodo dragon form, and in this helpless state, Go-Komodo was killed by Pimiko. Urban Legends #26.
