[Opening sequence and theme song.]
[Open on a full moon night in the city. A manhole cover is flipped aside and the Turtles emerge.]
Raphael "Leonardo, explain to me again why we're creeping around in the dead of night instead of home in our nice damp lair."
Michelangelo "Yeah, dude. We just blasted the Technodrome into Dimension X."
Leonardo "The Technodrome may be gone but Shredder and Krang are still loose."
Donatello "And this is the best chance we'll ever get to put those goons away for good."
Raphael "And I still say we have some vacation time coming."
[April stands waiting on a street corner across from a warehouse.]
April O'Neil "Hey, guys."
Leonardo "Okay, April, what did you call us for?"
April "There's a gang of car thieves hiding in the old warehouse across the street."
Raphael "How very original of them."
Donatello "But what makes you think they're connected with Shredder and Krang?"
April "Because they just robbed a used car dealer using some kind of sophisticated laser beam."
Leonardo "Pretty high-tech for car thieves. Let's check it out."
[Inside the warehouse, car thieves are stripping vehicles.]
Car thief 1 "It's in perfect shape. Just like the others."
Car thief boss "And with this baby, there's nothing we can't steal."
[The Turtles burst through the wooden planks covering a window.]
Leonardo "Don't go getting delusions of grandeur, punk."
Car thief boss "It's those miserable Turtles. Get ‘em!"
Car thief 1 "I'm gonna pry that shell off your back, mutant."
[He picks up a crowbar.]
Raphael "And I'm gonna put you in traction, bub. Hyah!"
[He kicks the car thief to the floor. The other thieves, armed with tools, attack. Michelangelo swings on an overhead chain to kick down two of them.]
Thief "Hey!"
Donatello "Time to put the skids on these goons."
[He throws his bō like a javelin and strikes a hanging tire rack. The tires spill out.]
Thief "Let's get out of here."
[The falling tires land directly on two thieves, entrapping them.]
Car thief boss "You lousy weirdo's. I'll fry you in your shells."
[He aims a laser blaster at the Turtles, but Leonardo leaps on him before he can fire. Leonardo then grabs a chain and ties up the man.]
Leonardo "Hang in there, creep."
[Going over to the pulley to which the chain is connected, Leonardo pulls him up off the floor so he’s swinging above the tire trapped thieves.]
Raphael "All right, where's Shredder?"
Car thief boss "What's that supposed to mean?"
Donatello "Uh, guys. I don't think this laser generator came from Krang and Shredder."
Leonardo "How can you tell, Donatello?"
Donatello "Well, because this label says "Made in Taiwan.""
Michelangelo "And Shredders hardware would say "Made in Dimension X.""
Car thief boss "What are you talking about? I ripped that thing off from a manufacturing plant."
Leonardo "Yeah, and you'll do time for it."
[There is a wail of police sirens which are growing louder.]
Raphael "The cops."
Leonardo "Come on. We'd better get scarce."
[Returning to their lair, the Turtles consult with Master Splinter.]
Donatello "I hate to say it, but we had an easier time locating Shredder when he had the Technodrome."
Leonardo "Well, we can't just give up now. We've got to find him."
Splinter "I agree, Leonardo. But to catch your enemy, you must think like him. Consider Shredder's situation. His first priority will be to rebuild his resources. And, being Shredder, he won't do it by legal or ordinary means."
Leonardo "Meaning he'll reveal himself by his actions."
Splinter "Precisely."
[They all head into the workshop and Donatello takes a seat in front of his computer.]
Donatello "We'll check out any weird-sounding crimes."
Police dispatcher "All units, major fire fight in progress at the Maryville Research Facility."
Raphael "That sound weird enough for you?"
Officer "There's some wacko in a metal mask and two freaks. I need backup now!"
Leonardo "It's them."
Michelangelo "Let's rock."
[Cut to the research facility. Sirens blaring, police cars pull up in front of the building. The police rush into the building and engage in a fire fight with Bebop and Rocksteady.]
Bebop "Uh, boss, uh, this ain't working."
Shredder "We must hold them off. I've got to get to some chemicals."
[He races off to another room.]
Bebop "Okay. But our blasters are getting awfully low on power."
Rocksteady "Eat blazing photons, cops."
[In a lab, Shredder begins dumping chemicals into a metal container.]
Shredder "Just the right mixture of simple chemicals packs quite a punch."
[Bebop and Rocksteady are still battling the police, but then Rocksteady’s blaster runs out of energy.]
Rocksteady "Uh-oh. Out of juice."
[Suddenly, Shredder breaks open a door with his metal container.]
Shredder "The Shredder surrenders to no one."
[He rolls the container towards the police.]
Officer 1 "It's gonna blow!"
Police "Come on, let's go. Go, go, go!"
[Shredder ties a rope to a metal pipe and tosses the other end of the rope through an open window.]
Shredder "Let's go."
[As the police are running around the front of the building, Shredder and his two mutants climb down the side.]
Bebop "Uh, gee, boss. Well, you sure bluffed your way out of that one."
[There is a huge explosion on the upper floor of the building.]
Shredder "I never bluff."
[They all run to a nearby dilapidated building which was once an electronic shop. Inside, Krang is studying a pamphlet.]
Shredder "We need power for the blasters. And new weapons, vehicles, a means of contacting the Technodrome."
Krang "I've already found a solution to our problems right here."
[Shredder snatches the pamphlet from him.]
Shredder "“Your guide to the 1964 world's fair.” Have you completely taken leave of your senses, Krang?"
Krang "Turn to page 20."
Shredder ""Visit the world of tomorrow in the Hall of Science." So?"
Krang "So that pavilion is still standing. It's an abandoned ruin that no one's gone near in almost 30 years. It may still contain equipment from the old science displays. Equipment that we can use."
Shredder "You may be onto something, Krang. Let's investigate this place. Bebop, Rocksteady, we're moving out."
