Gadgetman appears in the 1987-1996 animated TV series, and is an older man who once was an everyday hero in New York City. His only appearance occurs in the episode "Superhero for a Day".^[1]

History

When younger, he was an everyday hero who used his gadgets to fight crime. He was a hero for young Burne Thompson.^[2]

When Gadgetman decides to make a hero comeback, he picks up his equipment, and heads off in his van. After trying to stop a school bus from falling down a bridge into the river-water below, Shredder offers him to stop faked crimes, preventing the turtles from following Shredder to power stations looking for Technodrome fuel. Over a radio broadcast, Gadgetman learns the turtles are the real heroes, and together, they fight off Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady.

Trivia

Gadgetman was quite possibly inspired as a parody of Inspector Gadget. The G on his clothes is inspired by the "S" on Superman's clothes.
