April O'Neil has traveled to Antarctica to make a special focus-on-nature report. She asks viewers if the last unspoiled place on Earth can survive unharmed in the future. Scientists believe that man could shatter the balance of the wildlife and their habitat, placing both at risk. Rich minerals and fossil fuels are thought to exist beneath the ice, but it may not be possible to recover them without causing irreparable damage.

With the filming done for the day, April proposes that the crew head back to the base camp for hot drinks. Once there, April takes the tape containing the first part of her Antarctic video to a control room to check it before sending in on to Channel 6 in New York. As she reviews the film, April notices someone on the ice ridge in the background. Looking closely, she sees that while she was being filmed, Rocksteady and Bebop were behind her, spying on the news crew.

April uses the camp’s radio to reach out to the Turtles. Leonardo takes the call and then tells the other Turtles to break out the winter gear because April has spotted geeks in Antarctica. Donatello asks if Splinter wants to go with them, but their rat master says no – extreme cold freezes his fur. The Turtles take the Turtle Blimp and one very long journey later, they arrive at the news station base camp in Antarctica. April signals to them, having sent the rest of her team away to do some filming. While Don remains in the blimp, the other three Turtles climb a rope down to the ground.

The three Turtles greet April and she tells them she feels a lot safer now that they are there. Raphael says that it’s colder there than a frozen pizza. April reminds them they need to keep moving to warm up. She leads them to a nearby hangar, where a large snowcat is parked. April tells them there are also several sets of skis. Leo speaks up first, saying he’ll take the snowcat, which leaves Raph and Michaelangelo to go skiing. Mikey brags that he’ll be brilliant on the skis, but as soon as they are on the snow, he falls down. Raph starts laughing at him and Mikey retaliates by throwing a snowball. Leo drives past and tells them to stop fooling around because he thought he saw someone up on the ice ridge watching them. When he gets to the ridge, however, no one is visible.

However, on the other side of the ridge is a Footbot spy who skis back to the Technodrome to report to Krang and Shredder. The latter is pleased to know the Turtles are there but don’t know that they know it. Krang on the other hand doesn’t want riddles, he wants the Turtles stopped before they upset his plans. Shredder promises to begin an operation to put the Turtles on ice.

Meanwhile, the Turtles are searching the snow filled landscape for signs of their enemy, with Don trailing them in the Turtle Blimp from above. Suddenly, he spots smoke on the horizon and calls out to the other Turtles. All four head towards the smoke, only to find out that the smoke is coming from a burning oil drum. Raph warns that he has a nasty feeling about it and just as he says that, armored snowcats appear, with Footbots manning machine guns.

One of the Foot snowcats goes after Mikey and begins firing on him. Zipping along on his skis, Mikey dodges the gunfire and then sees multiple Footbots on skis are after him as well. Mikey spots a crevasse nearby and heads straight for it. Giving a tremendous leap, he makes a successful jump, but the Footbots do not. Then Mikey joins his brothers, who are racing ahead of the Foot snowcats. Raph says they could use some air support, but they don’t see Don anywhere.

Suddenly, a blast hits Leo’s snowcat and tips it over onto its side. Shredder thinks he’s destroyed a Turtle, but Leo manages to get the snowcat door open. He calls to his brothers to distract the Foot’s fire and then climbs out of the snowcat to run for it. Shredder calls for everyone to shoot at the fleeing Turtle, but the Foot snowcat drivers pay more attention to Leo than to where they are going and two of them ram right into the fallen snowcat.

The driver of the last Foot snowcat, in which Shredder is riding, says that they’d never be that stupid. However, he fails to see the crevasse ahead of the snowcat and the vehicle falls into it. Rocksteady and Bebop run to the snowcat, calling for their boss, and Don arrives in the Blimp’s glider. He explains that the release control on the glider had jammed, which delayed him. Moments later, all four Turtles are aboard the glider. They decide to follow Shredder and his troops to their base and do so, unbeknownst to the group below.

It takes a bit of time, but the Turtles finally discover that Shredder is heading for the Technodrome. Next to it is a drilling site that has made a mess of the nearby landscape. Krang greets Shredder and says that he trusts that all of the Turtles have been eliminated. Bebop forgets Shredder’s orders and tells Krang that they crashed their snowcats. None to pleased, Krang says that now his plans to grab all of Antarctica’s oil is seriously endangered.

The Turtles zip in, making their presence known. Krang calls the Footbots to battle, but Don swoops down and blasts the robots into pieces. Leo then orders Don to take out the oil drilling gear. With another strafing run, Don fires on the equipment, causing a huge explosion. Before Bebop can open fire on them, the glider dives and hits him before destroying some more Footbots.

A new target is then spotted – the fuel and ammo storage area. Don opens fire and blows the place sky high. Shredder and Krang make a beeline to the Technodrome and activate the transdimensional portal. From high in the sky, the Turtles watch as the vehicle vanishes. After landing the glider, the Turtles survey all of the damage and decide they’d better clean it up.

Much hard work later, the area looks a lot better and April finally locates the team. She skis to a stop and opens her backpack to show the Turtles that she’s brought pizza, but it’s frozen. It doesn’t take Donatello long to invent a cookstove from leftover junk in order to heat up the pizza. Everyone is finally able to enjoy the sunset while noshing on pizza.
