The Foot Tech Ninja (also named Tech Foot or Foot Tech Soldiers in TMNT: Mutant Melee) are elite Foot Ninja that were created by Baxter Stockman, who granted them enhanced strength and abilities (such as turning invisible, most notably). Also, their cybernetic armor makes them faster and stronger than regular Foot Ninja. Although Baxter Stockman created them, they refuse to obey him.

Appearances[]

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles[]

Console

In the console version, they appear as standard enemies starting with the third area of Stage 3: Trap. When a Foot Tech Ninja first lands onto the scene, it will immediately activate their cloaking device, rendering them invisible. If the ninja is knock downed, their cloaking device is permanently disabled. Regardless, Foot Tech Ninjas will not appear on the radar itself but will appear on the radar's number of current enemies present. A maximum of two Foot Tech Ninjas can be on-screen at one time. A Foot Tech Ninja will attack with a flurry of kicks and can pounce on top of a player's head, while they can dodge attacks by backflipping similar to Foot Ninjas.

It should be noted that while they carry two swords on their back in the 2003 cartoon, the scabbards are on their back in this game but the swords are not in them. They do not use their swords at all in this game.

Portable

In the Game Boy Advance version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, two of them serve as a boss fight in Donatello's fourth act. Both share a single large health bar and are in permanent invisible mode, which renders them immune to damage (they can still be attacked and knocked back however). When Donatello activates all the computer consoles in the area, a red lens encircles the center of the screen, revealing the ninja pair's location and no longer rendering them both immune to damage. Donatello has a limited time to inflict damage to the ninja pair before the lens deactivates, forcing Donatello to reactivate the consoles once more. Both ninjas are defeated once their shared life gauge is depleted.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus[]

Returning from the first game, they behave very similar to their previous console appearance. This time, however, a Foot Tech Ninja's cloaking device will permanently blink in and out of activation, and they can now block attacks. In addition, their swords are now in the scabbards on their back, but are still not used. The ninja itself also appears rather tall when compared to most other characters. They are commonly encountered Foot Clan-based enemies starting with the return to the T.C.R.I. building.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Mutant Nightmare[]

Console

They are strongly identical to their appearance in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus, but can also now throw punches in addition to their kicking combos and pouncing. In addition to the basic light blue version, they also now have a purple coloration version which notes their increased strength levels. Red coloration versions can also be battled in Free Battle stages of Episode 3. The Foot Tech Ninjas that appear within the Nightmare New York City's Free Battle stages are the default coloration, but possess a major stat boost on par with the red versions that can let them easily knock out any turtle unless they are equipped with an "Ultimate Turtle" scroll.
