The Foot Shack is a front business for the Foot Clan in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
History[]
To those unaware of the Foot Clan, it appears to be an ordinary store devoted to shoes and T-shirts, albeit one with some odd decorating choices such as shuriken.
However, a massive round vault door is placed on the rear wall of the store, which leads to a large rear chamber in which the ninja clan does its more secretive business. The rear room also has a secret descending staircase that allows the Foot Clan to enter a massive subterranean cavern under the store.
The Foot Shack first appears (timeline-wise) in "Shadow of Evil", shortly after April O'Neil has become employed there causing Splinter to investigate.
Trivia[]
- The use of a public front business to disguise Foot Headquarters was also a plot element in the Mirage continuity's Return to New York story arc. In that version, Hudson Block was once a major bank building which still superficially operated as a bank, but its inner rooms had been completely converted into the headquarters of the Shredder's renegade Foot Clan faction, with a system of underground chambers and tunnels as well.
- In the IDW continuity, Foot Headquarters had its own dedicated building, but employed numerous front businesses in New York City to distribute Foot Clan operations and secret sites. One of them is an ordinary fast food restaurant appearing in the Invasion of the Triceratons story arc, where Foot jōnin Splinter greets the recently captured Agent Bishop by offering him french fries.
- A van from the Foot Shack was first seen in "The Evil League of Mutants".
