Some TMNT stuff really isn't for little kids. |
In the IDW continuity, the Turtles know a nerve pinch maneuver taught to them by their father, Splinter. The pinch has the effect of immediately harmlessly incapacitating an opponent and rendering them temporarily unconscious.
It was first shown during the Fox Hunt arc, in which three of the Turtles were turned against Splinter by Kitsune's mind control. Splinter used the technique to subdue his sons without harming them. In Kingdom of Rats, part 2, Leonardo uses the nerve pinch on the necks of three of Toad Baron's frog minions—Bob, Franz and Alberto—to peacefully stop their attempts to attack the Turtles who have just teleported into the Den of Delights. Franz spasms during the maneuver, forcibly squirting out the edible portion of the remaining half of his banana nunchaku. All three awaken safely a short time later.
Trivia[]
- The nerve pinch is similar to the pressure point attack used by Splinter and Raphael in the 2012 TV series episode Slash and Destroy, though that maneuver causes incapacitation through uncontrollable spasming without causing unconsciousness. But the neck pinch bears an even greater resemblance to the Vulcan nerve pinch from the Star Trek franchise.
