Batman and the Turtles go on the offensive in the belief that they can take Bane down while he’s weakened, due to a lack of Venom on the Turtles’ world. But that’s not true any more! The Turtles’ foe Baxter Stockman has found a way to reproduce the deadly substance that feeds Bane—which means the Dark Knight and the Heroes on a Half-Shell are in for the fight of their lives.

Summary[]

In the lair, Michelangelo beats Robin in Laser Pony Racers: Destruction Grotto, which causes Robin to become sulky and insulting towards the Turtles. He's particularly nasty about Donatello, who has withdrawn out of guilt. Raphael takes offense, and declares that Robin is old enough to fight him.

Batman, Leonardo and Splinter are on a rooftop, spying on Bane, who is going through Venom withdrawal. Batman explains to Leonardo that he once used Venom himself, and describes the effect it has on the mind as well as the body. He plans to strike at Bane and return him to his own world in a few hours when his withdrawal is at its worst.

Stockman arrives to talk to Bane, and Bane exposits about his experiences with pain and imprisonment. He also reveals that he knows Batman is spying on him, and that he believes the pain of withdrawal won't immobilize him the way Batman expects. It turns out that Stockman has moved on to testing the new Venom, and is using Bebop and Rocksteady as his guinea pigs.

April goes to Donatello's lab to see if he's all right, and a depressed Donatello laments that his intelligence has caused all the problems they're facing, but that he's not capable of handling the situation by fighting instead. He tells April that he doesn't know what anyone needs him for, and April comforts him.

She brings him out as a referee for Robin and Raphael's fight, which has been nothing but blocking for the last hour. The pair finally manage to punch one another, and their friends watch with increasing alarm as they actually try to hurt one another, but seem to be evenly matched. Batman, Splinter and Leonardo return in the middle of the match and order Raphael and Robin to stand down, and Batman declares that they're moving in on Bane that night.

That evening, they all infiltrate Stockman's laboratory, and Batman demands to know where Bane is. Donatello realizes that this is all a trap just as Venom-fueled Rocksteady, Bebop and Foot Soldiers leap into the room. Stockman is accidentally doused with mutagen, which causes him to mutate into a giant fly.

Bane comes in at last, declaring that they cannot win and that he only allows them one freedom: choosing submission or death.
