In the IDW continuity's Big Trouble in Little Italy, Fershid Diaz is a lieutenant in the Savate Ninja clan, and was entrusted to deliver five million dollars in diamonds to the Foot Clan. He was highly suspicious of the Foot, believing that the other clan might betray them or steal the diamonds rather than delivering them to the Shredder.

However, his mission was unexpectedly disrupted when Eric Conner accidentally crashed the car, mildly injuring Diaz in the process. He later overheard Frank Corbin learning that the diamonds were at the Skara Brae, and informed Fabrice of this information.
