Down in the lair, the Turtles are about to indulge in their favorite pastime, which is eating pizza. Splinter bursts into the kitchen to tell them April O'Neil is on the Turtlecom and he fears she is in trouble. Leaving their pizzas, the Turtles go to talk to April through their television set. She tells them she’s in the Toxco Chemical Factory in New Jersey and that there is something dirty going on. April has discovered that they are dumping poisonous waste into the Hudson River. Though she sneaked into the factory processing center, she’s afraid that she’s been seen. April says she was followed but managed to lose them. She doesn’t notice a man creeping up behind her.
April is grabbed from behind and the transmission is cut-off. Leonardo says that they have to fast foot it to that factory to rescue April. Bringing their pizza with them, the gang jumps into the Turtle Van, with Leonardo at the wheel. They reach the factory, which is surrounded by a tall fence topped with razor wire. Parking the van, the Turtles go in search of a way inside and discover April’s Channel 6 newsvan. Finding that the van is empty, they continue searching and Leonardo finds a hole in the fence. He’s sure that is how April got inside, so the Turtles go through as well.
As they are making their way across the yard, Donatello says he feels like they’re being watched. Suddenly, a group of dogs attack. The Turtles fight with the dogs, who keep coming at them, until Donatello has an idea. He offers them the pizza that he was saving for later and the hounds go to town on it. One of the dogs goes back to Donatello and starts licking his face, and Michaelangelo says maybe he should take the dog home with him.
Leonardo has the dog sniff one of April’s notepads and then asks him to follow her trail. He offers a doggy bag full of pizza as an incentive. The dogs start sniffing the ground and lead to Turtles to a nearby warehouse. Using the other Turtles as a ladder, Leonardo climbs up to peer through a window. He manages to spot April just before Michaelangelo sneezes and topples the group. Leonardo tells the others that April is in ‘mega trouble’.
Inside the building, the factory boss has April chained to a toxic waste barrel. She is hanging upside-down above a conveyor belt. He tells her she’s made a big mistake coming there and April counters by saying he should have asked for a refund on his face when he was born. The factory boss tells her that the barrel she’s attached to will drop on the conveyor belt, which leads into a pool of sludge. There she’ll be munched up and filtered into the Hudson River.
As he prepares to drop April onto the conveyor belt, the Turtles smash through the wall with their Turtle Van. The Turtles leap out and Leonardo tells the factory boss that he’s outnumbered four-to-one. A clicking noise behind them makes the Turtles turn, and they see a dozen robots entering the room.
The Turtles are quickly surrounded by the robots and the factory boss asks what they have to say to the fact that they are now the ones outnumbered. Leonardo responds by saying ‘let’s party’. The Turtles begin battling the robots and taking them down. Leonardo is enjoying himself when Donatello reminds him about April, whose barrel is on the conveyor belt. Leaving the rest of the robots to the others, Leonardo goes to rescue April. He breaks the chains confining her to the barrel, but not before they both plummet into the vat containing sludge.
Leonardo and April are being pulled towards the mulching blade and Michaelangelo calls out that they need rescuing. Raphael says that the factory boss is getting away. The three Turtles split up, with Raphael and Donatello cornering the factory boss. Meanwhile, Michaelangelo climbs to a catwalk and uses a chain hanging from the ceiling to swing down and grab Leonardo’s arm. Michaelangelo pulls both April and Leonardo out of the sludge. April wants to know how she can ever thank him, and Michaelangelo asks for a kiss, which she delivers.
The Turtles and April surround the factory boss, who is sprawled on the floor with a large bump on his head, courtesy of Donatello’s bō. Leonardo says it looks like the factory has gone out of business and Michaelangelo invites April back to the lair for pizza. She declines because she has a news report to file.
Later, the Turtles and Splinter watch April’s report on their television. She gives ‘certain friends’ of hers credit for putting Toxco out of business. Splinter compliments his sons for a job well done and asks if they agree that it is important to live in a clean environment. The Turtles do agree, and Splinter tells them to practice what they preach by cleaning up the living room within the hour.
