In the story mode of the Super NES version of TMNT Tournament Fighters, the player will encounter a "mirror match" on the "Sky Palace" stage against their chosen Turtle. This turtle will have a different palette than either of the selectable versions, with purple skin, a blue plastron, and brown bandana and joint pads. This turtle will sometimes be holding Splinter captive. This evil turtle is only ever referred to as a "Fake Brother" and its origins are unknown. Popular theory holds that it's a returning Mechaturtle, but nothing in-game supports this. It's also unknown if these are four "Fake Brothers" or just one which switches weapons and tactics. It is not possible to play the game using the "Fake Brother" palette or portrait, making him the only unplayable character in the game.
