[Opening sequence and theme song.]
[Open on an old black-and-white horror film. A man and woman run through a laboratory and stop near a large window.]
Bob Collins "We should be safe here, Betty."
Space Turtle "Wrong again, Bob Collins. You are doomed. We Space Turtles are taking over this planet."
Professor "Don't be so sure of that."
[He turns a bright light on the Space Turtles.]
Space Turtle "Light! The one thing we Space Turtles cannot endure. We must flee. To our rocket ship."
[The “rocket ship” (attached to clearly visible wires) flies away.]
Betty "They're leaving the planet."
Bob Collins "Yes, for now, but I'm afraid we haven't seen the last of the Space Turtles."
Raphael ""The end" question mark? What, couldn't they make up their minds?"
Donatello "All those '50s monster movies end that way, Raphael."
Michelangelo "Man, that was some serious sci-fi. I want to see it again."
Raphael "How many times can one person watch “Invasion of the Space Turtles”?"
Leonardo "Especially considering that we know a real, live space turtle."
Michelangelo "Oh, yeah. Our little bud Kerma. But he's not ferocious like those dudes in the movie."
Donatello "Yeah, I'll say, but Turtleoids don't have the slightest idea how to defend themselves."
Raphael "Not exactly a good thing, considering the main thing they produce is gold."
Donatello "And gold is crucial to their survival."
Leonardo "Even the buildings on Shell-Ri-La are made of gold."
Raphael "Well, now that we've gotten all the exposition out of the way, what do we do next?"
Leonardo "I'm worried. Just about anyone could attack the Turtleoids for their gold."
Michelangelo "You think our little Turtleoid bud could be in danger?"
Donatello "Well, there's only one way to find out. Let's go to Channel 6. We can try to contact Kerma with the broadcasting equipment there."
[They head out of the lair. Cut to the Technodrome, deep under water. In a lab, Shredder is working on creating a new sword.]
Shredder "My super sword is nearly finished. A blade which could cut through anything. Even those Turtles' miserable shells. Now, for the most delicate part. Any variation in temperature could ruin--
Aah! Krang! What the blazes is wrong with our power?"
[The blade suddenly snaps in half.]
Aah! Krang! What the blazes is wrong with our power?"
Bebop "Yeah. The juice went out in the middle of our game of "Space Geeks.""
Rocksteady "Oh, and I was winning too."
Krang "The Technodrome is running dangerously low on energy. I've diverted all power to my lab."
Bebop "Hey, why should you hog all the volts?"
Krang "Because, unlike the rest of you meatheads, I have been working on a plan to repower the place.
There happens to be an unbelievably powerful solar storm occurring right now."
[He pulls up an image on the view screen.]
There happens to be an unbelievably powerful solar storm occurring right now."
Shredder "What good will that do us? We're at the bottom of the ocean."
Krang "Oh, but up in the city there's a way of capturing all that solar power. The lightning rod atop the Colossus Building is made out of a rare alloy which soaks up energy like a sponge. I can turn it into a massive solar collector. We'll run a cable to it and the Technodrome will be fully powered again."
Shredder "And what happens when those accursed turtles try to stop us?"
Krang "Heh-heh. Did you think I would conceive a plan this brilliant without taking them into account?"
[A door slides open and two robots enter the lab.]
Hunter drone "Awaiting target data."
Shredder "What the devil are they?"
Krang "Hunter drones. The most lethal tracking robots ever made. I had them drop-shipped from Dimension X."
[He pushes a computer over to the drones. He begins inputting information and a screen shows images of the Turtles, their weapons, and their vehicles.]
Drone "Data assimilated."
[The two Hunter Drones leave the lab.]
Shredder "It's going to take more than a couple of robots to stop those reptiles."
Krang "Au contraire. In a few hours our Turtle problem will finally be solved."
[In the Channel 6 building, the Turtles, in disguise, meet with April.]
April O'Neil "I'm sorry, guys, but our transmitting equipment is tied up right now. The only time you could use it is after four in the morning, when we're off the air."
Donatello "Looks like we'll have to wait until then to contact Kerma."
[Michelangelo turns and enters a nearby room.]
Michelangelo "Maybe not, compadres. Check it out. A telescope."
Vernon Fenwick "Oh, excuse me. That happens to be a birthday present from my best friend in the whole wide world."
Leonardo "And who might that be, Vernon?"
Vernon "Me."
Raphael "I should have known."
Michelangelo "Hey, now we can check out Kerma for ourselves."
Donatello "Michelangelo, you can't see Shell-Ri-La through that dinky little telescope, it's millions of light years away."
Michelangelo "But it only took us an hour to get there in the Turtleoid spaceship."
Donatello "Well, that's because their spaceship uses a transwarp drive which generates a flux in the space-time continuum."
Michelangelo "Excuse me?
Whoa, dudes, we're about to have company."
[He walks over to peer through the telescope and sees a rocket propelled building.]
Whoa, dudes, we're about to have company."
[The building, which is the Turtleoid spacecraft, comes in for a landing right next to Channel 6.]
Raphael "Don't you hate it when buildings drop in unannounced?"
Donatello "That's no building. It's the Turtleoid spaceship."
[A door opens at the bottom of the spaceship and Kerma walks out.]
Leonardo "Kerma."
Michelangelo "Are we glad to see you, little dude."
Kerma "The feeling is mutual, my reptilian brothers, for you see, I have a little problem."
Raphael "Oh, no, not again."
Kerma "It would be best if I explained it to you during the trip to Shell-Ri-La."
Michelangelo "Totally cosmic, dudes."
[The Turtles go into the spaceship with Kerma. Up in the Channel 6 building, April and Vernon are watching through the window. April is filming with her mini-camera while Vernon looks through the telescope. Burne and Irma enter the room.]
Burne Thompson "There's a giant spaceship right outside the building."
April "I know, chief, I know."
