- Ernie's status of "out sick" was supposed to indicate that there was three Turtle Ghostbusters, but there ended up being four Turtle Ghostbusters drawn into the comic. Writer Erik Burnham then said that the fourth was a Rookie[1]
- Ernie is named after actor [wikipedia:Ernie Hudson|Ernie Hudson], who portrayed Winston Zeddemore in the two Ghostbusters films.
