Eric the Red-Eye is a character in the 1987 animated TV series.
He appears in the episode "Northern Lights Out", and leads a group of high-tech Vikings from Norway. He uses his Hammer of Thor as a weapon.[1] and refers to himself as the "Son of Thor". Eric is eventually defeated by Donatello, who disrupts his Hammer of Thor (which is actually a holographic laser) by sending its own frequency back at it.

- His name is a reference to the historical Viking Erik the Red.
- He calls himself Eric (or possibly Erik) the Red-Eye throughout the episode, but the official Ninja Turtles website called him Eric Red.[2]
Errors[]
- Eric calls his weapon the "Hammer of Thor" despite the fact that it is clearly an axe. Donatello also refers to it as a hammer.
- Eric's name apparently comes from the red bandana that he has pulled over his left eye, but after first showing this off, the front of the bandana becomes indistinguishable from his hair in every subsequent scene. The bandana also fails to cover his eye in several shots.
