[Opening sequence and theme song.]
[Pan over an idyllic town in England.]
Tour guide "This extraordinarily powerful weapon was used by the Earl of Smothingham in the famous siege of Devon Castle."
[Taking the tour are the Turtles and April. However, Michelangelo dozes off standing up and leans against April as he starts to snore. The tour guide notices and clears his throat, causing April to nudge the sleeping Turtle.]
April O'Neil "Michelangelo, wake up."
Michelangelo "Wha-- Huh? Is it over yet?"
Tour guide "I hope I didn't spoil the gentlemen's little nap."
Michelangelo "Uh, no problemo, dude. I can sleep through anything."
Donatello "Oh, don't mind him. Go on with your lecture, it's very interesting."
Tour guide "Ahem. Very well. As I was saying…"
Michelangelo "Oh, this is mondo boring. I gotta get outta here. There's my ride."
Donatello "Come on, Michelangelo, stay for a little history, huh?"
Michelangelo "No way, amigo. As far as these English castles go, I'm history."
Tour guide "It was April 13th, 1572, at 2:00 in the morning, or perhaps it was 2:30 in the morning."
[While he’s talking, Michelangelo walks over to a catapult and climbs into the bucket. He pulls the lever and is thrown into the air.]
Michelangelo "Cowabunga!"
Tour guide "I say, what's he doing?"
Raphael "Well, he just caught an early flight."
[Shift to a hotel and then down to the tunnels beneath it. April is climbing down a ladder to join the Turtles, who have set up a makeshift room.]
Donatello "Hey, this Duke of Earl Hotel is pretty nice, huh, guys?"
Raphael "It's alright. But one hotel sewer is pretty much like another."
Donatello "That's what you think."
[He opens a door. A pizza delivery guy stands there holding pizza boxes.]
Delivery guy "Room service, governor."
Donatello "Thanks."
Raphael "Sewer room service? I'm impressed."
April "I'll have to pass on the pizza, guys, I'm heading down to Oxford to tape an interview with a famous British historian."
Leonardo "So long, April."
Raphael "See ya at the end of the show."
[She leaves through the door.]
Splinter "Welcome back, my students. And how was your historical tour?"
Michelangelo "Pretty bogus, Sensei. If I never see another old building it'll be just fine by me."
Splinter "You should take more of an interest in history, Michelangelo. Remember, the seeds of tomorrow are contained in the apple core of yesterday."
Raphael "I've always said that."
Michelangelo "Well, let's catch a little modern history on the tube.
Like some cartoons."
[He turns on the television.]
Like some cartoons."
Newsreader "Officials at Greenwich Observatory announced that the most advanced atomic clock in the world, capable of accuracy to the millionth of a second, has gone on display."
Donatello "Wow. I'd love to go see it. Hey, you guys want to come along?"
Michelangelo "Sure, dude. As long as it's not in an old building."
[The Turtles slide down ropes into the observatory.]
Leonardo "Watch out for the laser-beam alarm system."
Michelangelo "What lasers?"
Raphael "The ones you're about to step in."
Michelangelo "Oh, those lasers."
[He stops when Raphael catches his shoulder. Lasers can be seen crisscrossing the floor.]
Donatello "Great. The switch is across the room."
Michelangelo "Never fear, Michelangelo is here. [
Ta-da!"
[He begins leaping, flipping, and hopping over lasers.]
Ta-da!"
[He pulls a switch that shuts off the lasers.]
Donatello "The alarm is off. Good work, Michelangelo.
You know, this is a real, state-of-the-art device.
Whoa."
[The Turtles walk over to the atomic clock and Donatello picks it up.]
You know, this is a real, state-of-the-art device.
[Suddenly, a mini-whirlwind rises up from the device and then grows in size.]
Whoa."
Turtles "Hang on. Whoa! What’s that? Aah!"
[The whirling finally stops.]
Michelangelo "Whoa! No more fish and chips pizza for me."
[They look around the room, which is not the same.]
Leonardo "Look at this place. Everything has changed."
Donatello "Look, gas lamps on the wall."
Raphael "Great, another old building."
[A man abruptly walks up behind Donatello and snatches the atomic clock from his hands.]
James Moriarty "I'll take that."
Michelangelo "Who's that?"
Donatello "He's got the atomic clock. Hey, come back here, you."
Michelangelo "I'll stop that dude."
[He throws a turtle shell at the man, who ducks.]
Moriarty "Fools. You dare to interfere with Professor Moriarty?"
[He throws a grenade shaped object at them.]
Donatello "Look out, smoke bomb!"
Michelangelo "Gas!"
[The smoke envelopes the room and the Turtles start coughing.]
Raphael "Ow, my foot. I hate it when they do that."
Night Watchman "Hello, hello, hello, what's all this now?"
Leonardo "That man is getting away with the atomic clock."
Night Watchman "And just who might you be?"
Donatello "Oh, we're the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."
Night watchman "This here's the Observatory. We can't have turtles-- Turtles?"
Michelangelo "Whoa, gnarly whiskers, dude."
[The smoke clears enough for the man to see the Turtles and he shouts before backing out of the room and slamming the door shut.]
Raphael "I always said you had a face only a mother turtle could love."
Donatello "Did you see the way he was dressed?"
Leonardo "Never mind him, we've got to get the atomic clock back."
[Moriarty runs out of the building and down a set of stairs. The Turtles are right behind him.]
Donatello "Now we've got him."
[Two men in a horse drawn carriage drive up on the scene.]
Sherlock Holmes "Stop. Stop, I say."
John Watson "He's headed for the carriage, Holmes."
Leonardo "The clock thief has got help."
Donatello "I'll stop them."
[As the two men run past the staircase, Donatello leaps on Holmes and knocks him down.]
Watson "By Jove?"
Holmes "I say."
Donatello "He's getting away."
Holmes "Out of the way."
[Holmes shoves Donatello back.]
Donatello "Oh, no, you don't."
[Holmes lifts his walking stick and Donatello raises his bō the pair. The pair start dueling, climbing the staircase as they do so.]
Holmes "Not bad for a Turtle."
Donatello "Not bad for a skinny Englishman."
[Holmes loses his balance and trips, falling down the stairs.]
Holmes "Aah. My ankle."
[Moriarty waves from inside a carriage.]
Moriarty "Better luck next time, Mr. Holmes."
[He laughs as the carriage rolls away before the Turtles can catch up.]
Michelangelo "Bummer. He got away."
Leonardo "Did he say, Holmes?"
[Watson is examining Holmes’ ankle.]
Watson "Mr. Sherlock Holmes, you nitwit. And you just kept him from capturing Professor Moriarty, the most dangerous criminal in all of Europe."
Michelangelo "Get real, weirdly dressed dudes, this is 20th century."
Watson "This is the 19th century. 1890 to be precise."
Leonardo "No way. This is some kind of trick."
Donatello "Wait a minute, guys, think about it. When we were in the observatory everything changed, the gas lamps, the watchman's clothes, and all this. Who could pull such a trick? Somehow we're in the 19th century."
Michelangelo "Uh, I hate to bother you dudes with stupid questions."
Raphael "That never stopped you before."
Michelangelo "But if we're in the 19th century, how are we gonna get home?"
Donatello "It must have happened just before Moriarty grabbed the atomic clock, when everything kind of swirled around."
Holmes "You were pursuing Moriarty as well? My apologies, gentlemen-- Uh, mutant turtles, I believe. Originally genus Testudinidae Carolina. A very successful mutation."
Watson "They are talking turtles. Incredible."
Leonardo "You're really Sherlock Holmes? Oh. I'm honored."
[They shake hands.]
Holmes "Thanks, old chap, but I'm afraid we've no time for pleasantries. Moriarty is plotting something monstrous and you may be the very fellows to help me unravel his plan. Would you fellows care to join me in a cup of tea?"
Raphael "Sure, if you think we'll all fit. Ha-ha-ha. I know it's an old joke, but I couldn't resist."
[The Turtles arrive at a residence.]
Leonardo "Wow, 221B Baker Street."
Holmes "A humble house, but mine own. Come in."
[While they are climbing the steps, across the street, a man spies on them.]
Moriarty minion "Those will be the last guests you'll ever have, Mr. Nosy Holmes."
[Inside, the Turtles are seated on a couch with tea and a snack.]
Michelangelo "Truly awesome crumpets, dude. Only—"
Holmes "Only, what, Michelangelo?"
Michelangelo "Well, they'd be totally bodacious with a little tomato paste and cheese."
Holmes "Time to move the bust again, Dr. Watson."
Watson "Righto, Holmes."
Michelangelo "What's he doing that for?"
Leonardo "
Elementary, my dear Michelangelo.
Anyone looking at the window will think that Mr. Holmes is sitting there."
[With a British accent.]
Elementary, my dear Michelangelo.
[Back to his normal voice.]
Anyone looking at the window will think that Mr. Holmes is sitting there."
Holmes "Very good, Leonardo. Since I've been on Professor Moriarty's trail there have been several attempts on my life."
Watson "And Moriarty uses a nasty weapon he calls an air-gun cane. Silent, but deadly."
Moriarty minion "Goodbye, Mr. Holmes."
[He laughs and aims the air-gun cane at the statue. There is a knock at the door.]
Watson "I wonder who that could be at this hour."
[Watson opens the door to their visitor.]
Holmes "Lestrade, what a surprise."
Inspector G. Lestrade "Well, I see you have company, Mr. Holmes."
Holmes "Marvelous deduction. Come in."
Leonardo "Inspector Lestrade of Scotland Yard, of course. We know all about you."
Michelangelo "You were in Sherlock Holmes and the Spiderwoman. A primo flick, compadre."
Holmes "Trust me, Lestrade and tell my friends about Professor Moriarty."
Lestrade "Well, the professor has been stealing scientific equipment from all over Europe. And rumor in the underworld is he's going to make something to steal the 20th century."
Raphael "With the shape it's in, maybe we ought to let him have it."
Holmes "Earlier this evening he tapped the power of a lightning storm to travel to your time to steal this atomic clock of yours."
Michelangelo "[whistles] This dude is clever. How'd he know about it if it hasn't been invented yet?"
Donatello "Principle was known by the early 19th century. I'll bet Moriarty just figured out where and when it would be, waited for the right moment, and grabbed it."
Holmes "I had planned to go to Oxford to search for his hideout while Watson assisted Lestrade here in London. But now I need help."
Michelangelo "No problemo, dude. We're your Turtles."
[Something startles Holmes.]
Holmes "The air-gun cane. Down, everyone!"
[Everyone dives to the ground a second before the window is broken and the statue is knocked off its stand. Watson runs to the window and looks out.]
Watson "There. He's gone."
Michelangelo "Mondo bummer."
Holmes "Make no mistake, my green allies, Moriarty is a cruel and implacable foe."
[The Orient Express train rolls towards Oxford. Inside, the Turtles share a sitting car. They are all dressed in clothing of the time period. Leonardo peruses a map.]
Leonardo "Professor Moriarty used to teach science here at Oxford."
Donatello "I'll bet his hideout is near the Oxford Science Museum. That way he has access to the scientific equipment he needs."
[The train goes through a tunnel and when it comes out, there are figures standing on the last train car. The train pulls into the Oxford station and the Turtles spot some men making for the exit.]
Leonardo "There they go."
Donatello "Those thugs. After them!"
[After leaving the station, the Turtles stop on a street as Leonardo kneels to examine something with a magnifying glass.]
Michelangelo "What are you scoping out, amigo?"
Leonardo "That one tough got covered with soot on the train roof too. I'm following his trail of soot.
If I'm right that's the Science Museum over—"
[They start running down the street.]
If I'm right that's the Science Museum over—"
Donatello "Air-gun cane!"
[The Turtles duck and the window to a Tea Room is broken by the shot.]
Raphael "There he goes."
Donatello "Down that alleyway.
Where'd he go?"
[They chase after the man they see fleeing, but he vanishes.]
Where'd he go?"
Leonardo "Here are some fresh footprints.
Our man must have gone in here."
[The footprints stop at a manhole cover.]
Our man must have gone in here."
Donatello "Well, let's go."
[They drop into the sewer tunnels.]
Leonardo "Hm. Now to find a secret entrance to Professor Moriarty's lab."
Raphael "How do you know it's got a secret entrance?"
Donatello "Raphael, all these villains have secret entrances to their hideouts. It's in their contracts."
Michelangelo "Gee, this makes me homesick for the sewers."
Leonardo "This wall is the secret entrance."
Raphael "How do you know?"
Leonardo "
Elementary, my dear Raphael.
The groove marks indicate that this wall is slid over it."
[British accent.]
Elementary, my dear Raphael.
[Normal voice.]
The groove marks indicate that this wall is slid over it."
Donatello "And I'll bet there's latch right here."
[Donatello presses a brick, which opens the secret entrance.]
Leonardo "Elementary, my dear—"
Raphael "Yeah, we know, we know."
[They step into a darkened lab, but the lights immediately come on.]
Moriarty "Welcome, my green friends."
Leonardo "Moriarty."
Moriarty "My compliments to Holmes, instead of bloodhounds he uses talking Turtles."
Donatello "Enough chitchat, Professor. Hand over that atomic clock."
[Moriarty takes the clock off of the pillow its sitting on.]
Moriarty "I'm afraid I can't do that. You see, this clock is the final component for my time machine."
Leonardo "You're crazy."
Donatello "No one can change history."
Moriarty "Oh, but you're wrong. When I'm through Holmes will never have been born and I will rule the world.
Cheerio, chaps."
[Smoke starts to fill the room as Moriarty grabs a machine lever.]
Cheerio, chaps."
Leonardo "Quick, outside."
[The Turtles climb up to the street to find things have changed again.]
Donatello "Look at that telephone. And that truck. We're in our own time again."
