Eddiku Yuri was a master artisan and swordsmith who lived in ancient Japan. He made swords that were unequaled by any other artisan and some said that he used magic. Yuri appears in the Saturday Morning Adventures comics.
History[]
Artisan Eddiku Kai meets with Oroku Saki. Saki explains that he knows Kai's ancestor, Eddiku Yuri, created a powerful sword from the ore of a meteorite. Saki explains that he has the other half of the meteorite and he wants Kai to use its ore to forge a new sword - a full replica of the original. Kai is very interested, but says that the job is impossible. Though making the blade would be easy, the thing that made his ancestor's swords unique were the Tsuba, the hand guard. These Yuri crafted in ways that he did not pass down in his family. Some say he used magic. Kai adds that a motivated collector might find some of Yuri's unused Tsuba at the Mid-Manhattan Museum of Asian Art. With one of those, and a reasonable fee, Kai says he might be of some assistance. Shredder manages to break into the museum and steal the Tsuba. Shreddercon!
Though he has the meteorite, neither Shredder nor Krang can figure out how to cut it in order to use its ore to forge the sword they want Eddiku Kai to create. While Krang is complaining about this, Shredder lights a candle, pulls out a scroll, and performs a ritual that summons the ghost of Eddiku Yuri, who forged the original Forever Sword from a similar meteorite. Eddiku balks at Saki's demand that he help him and directs the objects around them to sprout body parts and run amok. He also summons a phantom effigy of Leonardo to attack Shredder. While all of these things are distracting Shredder, the candles burn down, which was what Eddiku had planned. He says that though he could help Shredder, he doesn't want to. With the candles out, the summoning ritual ends, and Eddiku Yuri vanishes. A Spirited Duel
While fighting with Shredder, the Forever Blade is activated and both are sent back in time without the sword, which was damaged in the fight. They continue their battle in Feudal Japan, but it is interrupted by Samurai in the service of Lord Hayao who are transporting Eddiku Yuri to their master. Both Leonardo and Yuri are taken prisoner by Lord Hayao, who fears he might offend the spirits by keeping the sword. This Circle Isn't Really That Flat
