Plot[]
The Mad Dogs are in the Hidden City. Looking at the map of all the places, Raph suggests they should split up and each do their own thing. As everyone splits up, Donnie is thinking of checking out the Battle Nexus Arena due to rumors about Shadow Fiend. When asked, April says she's heading to Witch Town. This shocks Donnie. April explains that she wants to use the witches' help for her science project on chairs, since Donnie's last few attempts to help backfired horribly.
They enter Witch Town, where they are greeted by Mayor Mira. Mira tells them that the citizens of the town are in the middle of a Peace Offering Festival that started 600 years ago by their founder, Abigail the Good. They also meet Gentry, a purple teen witch, who tells them she needs a specific type of worm for the big Peace Potion. April asks Gentry for help with her project, and Gentry agrees, making small fireworks burst from a nearby chair. Soon, several witches demonstrate their abilities, making chairs fly and transform for April. Donnie, having enough of this mystic powers, gets upset. He says that science is superior and will prove it through song. But in the process, Donnie accidentally destroys the statue of Abigail the Good, leading Mira to banish April and Donnie from Witch Town.
Gentry brings them to the gate, saying that this delay has made her fall behind on her worm gathering. She adds that without the worms, the witches can't finish the Peace Offering Potion, and something bad will happen. Donnie promises to get the worms if Gentry helps April with her project. Gentry agrees, and makes a spell that launches April into the air. Donnie uses his technology to extract worms from the dirt, then rapidly age them. He presents the worms to Gentry. Gentry says the worms look weird, but will have to do since she is out of time.
Gentry brings the worms to the giant cauldron in the town square, and Mira chants a spell to finish the potion. Donnie smugly notes that he saved the day, and April is disappointed that he did the right thing for the wrong reason. However, it turns out the peace potion, and the reason for the festival, was to make an offering to a giant Yōkai, the great Morgan. Mira requests that he take the potion, and leave Witch Town in peace until next year. Morgan drinks the potion, and Donnie charges through the crowd to gloat about his contribution. Morgan then gags on the potion, turns orange, and starts destroying Witch Town. Mira says the only reason Morgan turned orange and went crazy is due to something wrong with the worms in the potion. The witches get angry all over again, and chase April and Donnie, firing spells at them.
April says that the two of them need to stop the great Morgan, and Donnie agrees, but only to prove that science is better than mystic powers. Donnie tries attacking the great Morgan with his Tech-Bō, but he snaps it in half and throws Donnie at April. The collision causes April's bat to break a tiny mystic cauldron, imbuing the bat with mystic power. April uses the mystic bat to deflect a bolt of energy from Morgan. Donnie gets upset over April's new mystic weapon. April demands to know why Donnie is so obsessed with proving that science is better than mystic powers. Donnie admits that if mystic powers can do everything science can do, and more, she and his brothers wouldn't need him around. April reassures Donnie, saying that she cares about him, and not his technology. She adds that much like her and Donnie, mystic powers and science work well together. With that in mind, Donnie and April defeat the great Morgan with science and mystic powers.
Donnie stands before the witches and apologizes for his behavior. The witches don't accept the apology and throw April and Donnie into the Hidden City Prison. The two of them look up and notice their cellmate, Raph.
Quotes[]
- Donnie: Hm, that must have been the work of another Teenage Mutant Ninja Donnie.
- Donnie: Let it go?! Does she even know me?!
- Donnie: You know, the feeling of ‘fun’ is a chemical reaction in the brain. So mystic fun will always be science fun. Ha ha, zing!
- Donnie: Ha, would you look at that? Banished and I still saved the day.
- April: Wait, is that why you did this?
- Donnie: No! It was to say I was sorry - about being so closed minded - about how wrong they were.
- Donnie: Because, I’m the Science Guy! (sigh) If mystic powers can do everything I can do but better, than why would you guys even need me?
- April: You aren’t important to me because of your tech, you’re important to me because of you! I don’t think mystic powers are better than science, if anything, they’re stronger together. Just like us, right?
- Donnie: Right!
- Donnie: I was wrong to not be more opened minded, it’s just that mystic powers are the one thing I cannot solve. As a man of science, it is maddening to come across something that you finally do not understand. Especially when you’re dumb dumb brothers totally do, and then they wave their dumb dumb weapons in their dumb dumb hands all the dumb dumb time! But thats just a long way of saying, I'm sorry.
