Donatello is a mutant soft-shell turtle and the team's resident tech-head. Of the Turtles, he is the one with the fewest changes compared to previous incarnations. He wields a high-tech version of his traditional bō, which is also a "transforming tech-bo". He is the second oldest turtle.

Donnie's field of study revolves around engineering, robotics, and technology.
Donnie is the second oldest of the Turtles, unlike in previous incarnations where he's the second youngest.
For the first time, this incarnation of Donatello is the only one with eyebrows.
