As the Brain Thief robot's motivations become clear, so too is the realization that the liquid metal organism cannot be stopped. Donatello must not only accept this, he also has to struggle with aspects of his own secretive, dark nature. All attempts to stop the Brain Thief from reuniting with Baxter have so thus far failed. What can Don do, faced with these cold realities?

Summary[]
Open on an empty section of sewer tunnel, water on the floor, cracks in the walls and numerous pipes running throughout. The door to Donatello’s secret lab stands open. Inside, the brain monitor attached to Baxter Stockman’s brain, still inside the upper portion of the robot body, begins to register high activity. Then the liquid metal robot arrives and says Baxter’s name. Baxter calls out to be freed quickly, warning that this is a trap.
The hatch atop the robot’s head opens and the brain-eating tendril snakes out. The robot moves towards Stockman, who calls out for it to take his brain. Suddenly, from out of the darkness, Don springs, stabbing his bō into the robot’s open brain compartment. Don leaps again to kick the robot backwards and out of the lab. The staff catches on the threshold and breaks in half, part of it still sticking from the brain compartment.
Don follows the robot out of the lab, watching as it crashes into the wall opposite the room. He holds a defensive stance as the robot stands and then yanks the broken half of the bō out of its head. Don attacks again, punching the robot and then darting off to lure the monster away from the lab and Stockman. When they have gone a short distance, Don stops to pick up the grenade he’s left on the ground. He jumps and crams the grenade into the robot’s open brain hatch.
The grenade explodes as Don leaps out of harms way. A little stunned by the blast concussion, Don rises slowly and turns in time to see the liquid metal robot body begin to reform. While this is happening, Don walks off. The robot pulls itself back together, but when it’s fully whole again, Don returns, this time with a dog on a leash. The dog barks and Don orders him to sit, calling the dog “Baxter”. Baxter immediately follows the command.
Don then asks if the dog is “Rover” and receives no response. He asks if the dog is “Bingo” and again there is no response. Then Don asks if he is Baxter and the dog barks. Don looks over at the robot and tells it that it wanted Baxter and this is Baxter. The robot stares at the dog for a moment, then the brain-eating tendril slithers out of the open hatch and stabs into the dog’s brain.
Don watches as the robot fully reforms into the dog. He then begins to walk away with the command “Baxter, come.” The robot dog, mindlessly obedient, follows him down a flight of stairs and into a narrow corridor. The continue walking, going deeper and deeper into parts of the underground where no one has been for a long while. Finally they come to a huge steel door powered by electronics attached to large gears. Don takes a remote control from his belt and presses a button, activating the unlocking mechanism. The door opens and Don walks into a large, empty vault, once again telling the dog to follow.
When the dog is inside, Don orders it to sit, which it does. Don leaves the vault and just before closing the door, he tells the dog to stay. After closing and locking the door, Don hangs his head, his eyes shut. A moment passes and then he glances at the door before dropping the remote on the ground and stomping on it. Don then walks away.
