In Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Don Suave is the mystic fusion of Yōkai brothers Señor Hueso and Capitán Piel.
Appearance[]
Don Suave is a human-like Yōkai with short straight black hair, a black moustache, black eyes, tan skin, and a lean figure. He wears a fitted black suit paired with a white dress shirt, a black tie, and black Oxfords.
Personality[]
Don Suave is noble, even-tempered, and well-mannered, having a kingly air to him.
History[]
Don Suave debuted in "The Hidden City Job" when Señor Hueso, Capitán Piel, and Leonardo were surrounded by Big Mama and her Yōkai guards after repossessing Hueso's stolen pizza cutter from her auction house. In a desperate attempt to escape, Hueso and Piel fused into Don Suave. He swiftly incapacitated his adversaries and fled from Big Mama's auction house on a simurgh with Leo.
Abilities[]
- Mesmerizing presence: Don Suave's mystic power allows him to overwhelm those who merely gaze at him to the point they are rendered temporarily prone and immobile regardless of their gender or orientation.[1][2] While powerful, his ability can be countered by preemptively averting one's gaze and due to its indiscriminate nature, Don Suave can unintentionally incapacitate his allies as well.
Relationships[]
Friends and allies[]
- Leonardo: Don Suave saved Leo from the threat of Big Mama's violence in "The Hidden City Job" and was heroically stoic as he held him in his arms as they fled the scene, Leo's affection remaining definitively one-sided.
- Tamed simurgh: Don Suave fled Big Mama's auction on the simurgh Piel and Hueso tamed.
Enemies[]
- Big Mama: Don Suave swiftly defeated Big Mama and her guards to escape from her auction house.
Trivia[]
- Don Suave's character design was inspired by the late Mexican actor Ricardo Montalbán.[3]
- Don Suave is an unusual Yōkai appearance-wise as even the most human-like Yōkai currently shown in the series have notable non-human design features such as Big Mama's human disguise. The other instance that a Yōkai is shown to resemble humans as closely as Don Suave is when wearing a cloaking brooch like Sunita does while in New York.
- It is revealed by Piel in "The Hidden City Job" that he and Hueso used fuse often when they were children before they became estranged from one another. Whether the fusion was still specifically named "Don Suave" is currently unclear.
