Plot[]
The Turtles, Sally, and Mondo Gecko are hiding out near the ruins of the old StockGen building, having been called there by Old Hob. Darkwater forces have the place surrounded, complete with a helicopter providing aerial cover with a sniper. Not knowing what Hob is up to, Leonardo begins to think of a plan.
Old Hob emerges from the building, demanding the Darkwater forces hold their fire. Wesley Knight gives the order to hold fire, and Hob reveals he has two hostages: John Bishop's father and Knight's wife, Pam. Knight immediately emerges from the command vehicle to confront Hob, demanding that he release his wife. When Hob refuses, Knight prepares to order his sniper to fire. However, before the sniper can take the shot, Donatello disrupts the helicopter with an Anti-Gravity Gauntlet, forcing it to land.
With the helicopter down, everyone else springs into action: Raphael and Michelangelo subdue the Darkwater soldiers, while Sally and Mondo Gecko take over the Microwave Array Vehicle and turn it on the remaining soldiers. With the odds suddenly having swung out of his favor, Knight is more willing to listen to Hob. Pam tells him that all Hob wants is the other Mutanimals -- his family -- back. Hob adds a threat -- if any of his Mutanimals aren't returned, he's going to assume they're dead, and will send a lot of people to join them, starting with Knight's wife.
Suddenly, Bishop intervenes, controlling Slash. He states that the Earth Protection Force does not negotiate with mutants, demanding that Hob either release his father and Pam, or he will modify the EPF's "no-kill" policy in drastic fashion. He starts by flipping over the Microwave Array vehicle with Sally and Hob inside, going on a rant about biological weapon and their imperfect biology.
Hob appeals to Knight once more, referring to Bishop as a "paranoid lunatic" who doesn't even trust Darkwater, and that this doesn't have to get any uglier. Pam agrees, and despite Bishop's objections, Knight terminates the op, giving the order to Alex Winter. Winter points a gun at Bishop's head and tells him to stand down the Slash Weapon, and the other Mutanimals are set free.
Darkwater leaves, with Winter leaving Man Ray with a gun to deal with Bishop. However, Bishop reveals that Slash now has an "auto-pilot," and his attack distracts the others long enough for Bishop to retake control. In a last act of desperation, Hob puts a gun to Wayne's head and threatens to shoot him. Bishop, however, claims his father was gone, and Bishop himself is his chosen successor, before using Slash to crush his own father. An enraged Hob slashes at Bishop with his claws, knocking off the device he uses to control Slash and tearing off enough of his face to reveal that his "body" is actually robotic.
Bishop then goes on to gloat about how protecting and leading does not come without difficult choices and sacrifice. Leonardo suddenly slices Bishop's hands off, telling Bishop he agrees -- Sometimes a leader has to become the thing he hates to take care of the ones he loves. The sound of sirens approaching forces the Turtles and the Mutanimals to vacate the premises, though they can't take Slash with them because he's still under Bishop's control.
As the Turtles drive off in Hob's van, Leonardo declares them to be Clan Hamato, and that they will find a way to rescue Slash. For starters, Leonardo tells Donatello that they're going to need some new tech, and Donatello thinks that maybe he'll start with the van they're in.
