Synopsis[]

Slash is sitting on a rooftop, reading The Grapes of Wrath by Pigeon Pete's Pigeon coop. Suddenly, the building begins to collapse underneath Slash, dropping him to the ground. Before he can regain his bearings, he is attacked, then tranquilzed by a group of soldiers led by Agent Bishop. Bishop orders Slash to be taken back to the EPF labs for "Phase 2."

In the Church, Donatello is angry at Michelangelo for using his tablet as a coaster. Raphael gets off the phone with Angel Bridge after receiving the good news that Alopex is recovering well after the events of the events of the previous issue. A disagreement between the turtles over what they should focus on doing next leads to Leonardo storming off in frustration.

At the EPF Labs, Doctor Shevlin is running tests on Slash. Agent Bishop looks on, pleased with the doctor's work at turning Slash into a biological weapon under his control. While Wesley Knight expresses his doubts, Agent Bishop reassures him that he's doing what is needed to prove that his father was right in that there were monsters in the world the EPF needed to defend against.

Outside the Foot clan's compound, Leonardo meets with his father to express his frustrations with his brothers and his doubts about his ability to lead them. Splinter does his best to reassure him, but Leonardo still has his doubts, and is worried that he won't have time to resolve them before the next crisis begins.

At the headquarters of the Mighty Mutanimals, the group is sitting around watching a movie. Pigeon Pete's cousin, Jimmy, suddenly flies in just as there's a knock on the door. Mondo Gecko answers the door to SLash, and invites him in. Unfortunately, Slash is under Bishop's control, and immediately attacks the Mutanimals. During the fight, Mondo's tail is ripped off, Seymour Gutz's tank-body is shattered, and Herman has an arm torn off. Slash takes out Sally Pride, Man Ray, and Pigeon Pete as well, and Lindsey Baker is tranquilized by Wesley Knight while trying to escape.

With the Mutanimals subdued, the Darkwater Forces secure the building. However, they only find seven people, where their intel had eight. Old Hob managed to escape in the confusion.
