Some TMNT stuff really isn't for little kids. |
The Dark Lords of the Night are a gang of fake vampires who roam the streets of New York City in the Mirage continuity's fourth volume, with a predisposition towards biting people and drinking their blood until they die.
They first appear in TMNT #11, attacking two young women, Em and Gina in Central Park. Gina gets away, but they kill Em.
In the following issue, they run afoul of a drunken Raphael. Although Raph fights off a few of them, he's too inebriated to fight them all and he ends up succumbing to their attack, only saved when Glurin and Honeycutt arrive and the latter scares them off. Despite the fact that it is confirmed that these punks are merely "LARP"ing as vampires, somehow their bites ended up provoking a further mutation in Raph and transforming him into a giant monstrous form.
Much later, they happened upon a sleeping "beach bum" on a bench, who turned out to be Casey. He, along with the now-tranquil (but still monstrous) Raph, and Donatello piloting a SAL model robot, beat them up and captured most of them for Honeycutt to research, so he could find a cause and potential cure to Raph's predicament. TMNT #24, vol. 4 They are taken to the police, where Xitor interrogates their leader, "Yorga Mol". He insists on having his lawyer present, but Honeycutt draws his blood for analysis before she arrives. TMNT #25, vol. 4
