Daniel B. "Danny" Pennington is an important side-character in the comic adaptation of the 1990 TMNT live-action film.
The son of Channel 6 studio head Charles Pennington, Danny often got in a lot of trouble, ranging from general mischief to theft and shoplifting. Danny was inducted as an initiate of the Foot Clan, and upon learning of the Ninja Turtles, who were staying with Charles' employee April O'Neil, he offered this information to the Foot's leader, Shredder.
Shredder used this intel to send his Foot Ninja to attack the Turtles at April's apartment, rendering Raphael unconscious and ending with the building on fire. Upon seeing the fire, Danny began to regret his actions.
Next, he sought audience with the Turtles' Master Splinter, who the Foot had captured. The old rat's words served to further humble the young Pennington, and as a result, when he later learned of Shredder's plan to kill Splinter, he assisted Casey Jones in rescuing him.
After the defeat of Shredder, Danny reconciled with his father. In an alternate ending to the film, he assisted April in visiting Mega Comics to pitch a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book - which Jim Prindle, their pitch target, found farfetched. April and Danny just laughed after noticing the Turtles watching them from outside.
