The latest VHS release was on April 26, 2005, while the DVD release continued. Many fans have heavily criticized FUNimation's erratic release patterns (which is being fixed with the re-releases). This guide describes current and slated DVD releases. According to an article from Anime blogs, Funimation has chosen to discontinue the TMNT DVD releases.

1987 animated TV series

These DVD contain episodes from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987 TV series). The episodes are not in exact order.

Volume 1

Volume 1 contains the first 5 episodes and 4 episodes from season 10.

Volume 2

Volume 2 contains the thirteen episodes comprising Season Two from 1988:

Volume 3 contains the first twelve episodes of Season Three from 1989:

Volume 4 contains twelve more episodes from Season Three from 1989-1990:

The Complete Classic series box set

Released by Lionsgate Home Entertainment in 2012, this set includes all episodes from all seasons in their original aspect ratio spread out over 23 discs, with 3 hours of bonus features from previous DVD releases. The discs are packaged in a plastic Turtle Van replica. The series was at first a limited time release and was discontinued until September 2014. The box set is currently back for sale again, but for how long is unknown.

The Next Mutation TV series
