Crying titan bg rise 2

The Crying Titan is a location in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Description[]

The Crying Titan is located in the center of the Hidden City. It is a giant statue and the most sacred shrine of the Yōkai as well as the source of the Empyrean which originally mutated the city's Yōkai inhabitants. The Crying Titan is bent on its right knee, holding its face with its left hand as it weeps. The Crying Titan has four arms with five clawed fingers, tentacles under its chin, sharp teeth, facial mandibles, curved horns on its head. It wears wrist bands and shin guards. The first arm on its right and the second arm on its left are missing, leaving only two arms attached to its body. Inside of its right eye is a Krang spaceship which is where the Empyrean is located and when penetrated, Empyrean cascades from the eye like tears.

The Crying Titan itself is surrounded by an invisible mystic shield to protect the Empyrean within which glows green when touched. Around the Crying Titan is a deep body of water and in the water are large rock formations, giant swords, and giant spears. On a disembodied hand are dozens of bladed weapons and flags. Flocks of white flying Yōkai reside around the site. The Hamato Clan's attack toppled the disembodied hand and caused the Crying Titan to fall onto its left side and lose its second right arm as well, leaving it without right arms.

History[]

The Crying Titan contains the long-deceased skeletal remains of a Krang, an alien who brought the Empyrean to Earth in ancient times and had also been responsible for originally giving the Kuroi Yōroi to Oroku Saki. The back of the Crying Titan was once crashed into by a Krang spaceship and the ship's fuel is Empyrean's origin.[1][2][3][4][5]

The Crying Titan debuted in "Finale Part 4: Rise". Foot Recruit and the Shredder kidnapped Baron Draxum and Splinter to the Crying Titan as the Shredder wanted to conduct a ritual to steal Splinter's Hamato essence. To do so, he required Empyrean and broke the Crying Titan's barrier to access it. He used it to activate the extraction ritual atop a disembodied hand with Foot Recruit's help, but during the extraction, Hamato Karai and the Mad Dogs appeared. Foot Recruit guarded Splinter while the Shredder fought to subdue the Mad Dogs. As the fight continued, Donatello attacked the Shredder with his giant drill, causing the Mad Dogs to believe they ended him before the Shredder freed himself and forced them off of the hand. With Splinter's essence fully exposed, the Shredder then began to absorb it and nearly succeeded in doing so to completion until Foot Recruit intervened. Splinter fended off the Shredder's attack on Foot Recruit with a punch from his restored essence and the Turtles broke his essence's chains. Karai, Draxum, Cassandra Jones, Splinter, and the Mad Dogs then organized a joint attack against the Shredder, leading to Splinter accessing his Hamato Ninpō as the Mad Dogs did earlier. The Shredder, in turn, evolved into a more powerful form and successfully counterattacked, besting the family's strength. The Hamato Clan Ancestors then arrived to boost the power of their Ninpō and the clan was able to stab the Shredder with their mystic spear, burning the Kuroi Yōroi to destruction and freeing Saki's trapped soul from within. With the Shredder destroyed, the Hamato Clan Ancestors left and Draxum, Casey, Splinter, and the Mad Dogs then exited the Hidden City.
