Cretaco the Crocodile is one of thirteen monsters featured in the 2007 film.
History[]
Cretaco is a large, quadrupedal monster in the TMNT universe. Like the rest of the Thirteen Monsters, the Cretaco escaped from a portal in South America 3000 years ago, and has been terrorizing humanity ever since. This monster inhabits the water, where many legends about the creature have developed.
In the 2007 film, it is the final monster needed to open the Stars of Kicaan portal. While the Turtles hold off the Stone Generals (who wished to keep their immortality rather than have it revoked by the portal), April, Casey, Karai, and a Foot Ninja head off to lure it back to the Winters Corp tower using Michelangelo's party van. It then crashed into the Stone Generals, sending them to the Thirteen Monsters' home world.
Trivia[]
- Cretaco is designed after various legends of oversized crocodilians as well as other monsters inhabiting large bodies of water (although in-universe, Cretaco is one of those who spawned those legends).
- It was the only one of the Thirteen Monsters who was never locked inside a pod by Winters, though its immense size may have prevented it from fitting inside a standard pod anyway.
