Crabapult, the animal-born mutant hermit crab, is a common enemy in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed.
History[]
Using what they could salvage of Baxter Stockman's mutagen work, Techno Cosmic Research Institute went full steam ahead on attempting to generate their own mutants, including giving some of them super powers. The Crabapult was one of the template types of mutants.
Cammy Leon, a mutant chameleon, broke herself and the other experiments out of T.C.R.I. and made it out into New York City. Since the population was already familiar with the Turtles and Mutanimals as heroes, the public welcomed them with open arms, and for a while, these "Mewbies", as the Turtles dubbed them, were integrated as productive members of society.
That all changed when one day, the Mewbies all began going berserk, committing various crimes and generally rampaging through the city. The Turtles attempted to find out what was causing this sudden change in behavior, as it would ruin the human-mutant relations that they had worked so hard to build. As they investigated, they came across some Crabapults, mutant hermit crabs with trash cans on their backs that would attack them by flinging trash bags.
When other mutants such as Bebop, Rocksteady, Wingnut, Leatherhead, and even briefly Michelangelo began exhibiting the same behavior, it became apparent that something even bigger was afoot.
