Crab-Beard is a human-born mutant crab who appears in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Panini) comic, Behold, Crab-Beard! He was a fisherman who was smashed on the head by a falling mutagen canister, which increased his mass and changed his skin red, as well as turning his head into a full giant crab.

Crab-Beard was aware that some aquatic creatures had been attacking fishermen along the East River, and sought to stop them. He came across the Ninja Turtles, who also were investigating the attacks. Both parties thought each other the assailants, and so they fought. Crab-Beard, for his part, had no fighting experience and was no match for four ninja, although he did get over on Raphael by summoning a crab to attack his hindquarters.

After they slowed down to talk, the five mutants realized that they were after the same target. Leonardo suggested a team-up, and they packed into the Turtle Sub to plumb the depths of the East River. There, they found mutant lobsters and their clutch of eggs. Crab-Beard and the Turtles realize that this could mean trouble, and they surface the Sub, but there were some lobsters clinging to the hull. The Turtles try to knock them off, but they are too tough. Crab-Beard, who had been wrestling with self-doubt, finally resolved his problem long enough to try his telepathic conversational ability to talk to the lobsters. The lobsters told him their plan to take over the city. He held up Michelangelo's flyer for Sal's Pizza Shack, with an ad for lobster pizza, and told them that not only do humans eat lobster, but their size would make them more appetizing. This scared the lobsters off the hull, and they abandoned their plans for conquest, taking their eggs with them into the deepest parts of the ocean.

With their mission finished, the Turtles and Crab-Beard parted ways.
