April O'Neil reports from Pier 19 on the inauguration of the harbor captain’s new rescue vessel. The captain greets the press and presents to them “Sub 1”. A reporter calls attention to the fact that it doesn’t look like a normal rescue boat and the captain tells him that it’s a pocket submarine. Sub 1, he says, can face the worst storms and help any submarines in difficulty. He explains that the engine is powered by a very powerful plasma battery, which will allow it to rescue even sunken ships. The reporters are impressed and the captain tells them that’s not all. He is about to say more when April interrupts to say that it’s amazing. The captain thanks her, but says he hasn’t said anything yet. April points out that the submarine is leaving.

The captain turns and shouts that wasn’t planned. A crewman gets on his radio and tries to contact the sub, as there wasn’t supposed to be anyone on board. The captain takes the radio from him and insists on an answer. Finally, he receives a reply, telling him to stop yelling and they can hear him very well. He is also told to say goodbye to his toy and hopes it was insured against theft. The captain says they must sound the alarm immediately, but unfortunately, the sub is much faster than the patrol motorboats that will chase it. April walks away from the crowd, certain that the voice she heard was Shredder’s.

April quickly takes out her Turtle Communicator to warn the Turtles. In the lair, Leonardo receives the call and says they’ll go hunt the sub right away. She tells him that Sub 1 is very fast and she doubts they’ll be able to reach it. Leonardo tells her they won’t try; they will cut him off. Shortly, the Turtles shoot out of a pipe to the mouth of the harbor in a Shell Boat. They quickly spot Sub 1 and climb onto the hull. Donatello says they must get in and Leonardo tells him to try all the doors.

Inside, Bebop is at the periscope and informs Shredder that they have visitors. Shredder goes over to look and says that this time the four party poopers have arrived at the right time. He tells Rocksteady to open the hatch, but the mutant is hesitant to let them in. However, the hatch is opened and the Turtles enter the submarine. The hatch snaps shut behind them, much to Donatello’s dismay. Raffaello reaches an inner door. Shredder looks through the small window in the door and tells them to hold on, because they are about to dive. Raffaello tells him that if he manages to open the door, Shredder will be in trouble. Shredder tells him not to get so angry, because when they get below, he’ll let them out.

When they are near the bottom of the river, Shredder has Bebop eject the Turtles from the sub. As Leonardo guessed, Shredder decided to drown them, but doesn’t know that a big disappointment awaits him. Shredder is ecstatic at their triumph. They have the plasma battery for the Tecnodromo and Bebop adds that they got rid of the Turtles. But then he calls Shredder’s attention to the fact that they have a problem. The controls are not responding anymore and they are climbing. Shredder says that’s not possible.

Behind the sub, the Turtles are holding onto rudders. They know that Shredder will be annoyed because instead of drowning, they are hijacking him. The three occupants inside are thrown to the floor when the sub suddenly hits something. Since they are on the surface, Rocksteady is sent to look outside. When he spots the navy ship next to them, he shouts for everyone to save themselves, women and mutants first. All three leap into the water and begin swimming. A police helicopter arrives overhead and they are ordered to stop or the police will open fire. Rocksteady wants to know why Shredder doesn’t call a Modulo da trasporto so they can escape. Shredder calls him an idiot because the modules are underground, not underwater.

Back on the pier, the captain informs the press that Sub 1 has been recovered. April is fairly certain that she knows who deserves the credit, and is curious as to how they did it. She hears someone calling her from beneath the pier and goes to look, finding that the Turtles are there. April climbs down to the sand and then under the pier to find out their story. Afterwards, she tells them she doesn’t understand how they managed to survive and asks if they had emergency respirators. All four Turtles laugh and Raffaello that she, like Shredder, forgets one small detail. Leonardo says yes – the fact that Turtles are amphibious.
