Columbus Hospital is a fictional hospital in New York City, appearing in the IDW continuity.
History[]
Casey Jones is taken to Columbus to recover after he is shot by Hieronymus Hale. His room is watched by Foot Patrol guards, but when they are called away on an all-hands response to subjugate the Turtles in Hell's Kitchen, April sneaks in to visit him. Four Busted Knuckles
The Turtles end up escaping to Newark, New Jersey, but Raphael becomes fed up with their inaction against the Foot Clan and goes off on his own to take the fight to Karai. Raph goes to find Casey as backup, only to find out about his encounter with Hale and subsequent coma. Raph vows vengeance on Casey's attackers and then is discovered by the Foot Patrol security detail, who begin to swarm the room as Raph fights them. The Sewers of Newark
Casey eventually recovers, and upon remembering Hale was the one that shot him, he calls for someone to get his stick, not noticing a rat behind the vase April left.Turtles on Trial
Notes and trivia[]
- New York City's Manhattan neighborhood did have a hospital called Columbus Hospital in the 1890s, which merged with Italian Hospital in 1973, becoming the Cabrini Medical Center in 1976. Cabrini filed for bankruptcy and closed in 2008.
