Summary[]
April O'Neil reports live from the Institute of Zoology, ready to introduce the viewers to the legendary Amanda. Dozens and dozens of people have lined up to see her, which is understandable, because Amanda is a truly unique giant turtle. Amanda was discovered just a month ago off the shores of Española. April tells her viewers that Amanda’s species, exceptional in size, was believed to be extinct. The turtle is perhaps a close specimen to the Cheloniidae, the ancient turtles who appeared on Earth before the dinosaurs.
Wearing disguises, the Turtles have joined the crowd of visitors to get a close look at Amanda. Michelangelo reminds his brothers of what he told them, that their family has ancient origins. Walking up to the aquarium, Michelangelo greets Amanda as sister, and then asks if they should call her great-great-great-grandma. His brothers tell him to stop and ask if he can’t see that Amanda is suffering. They all agree that it’s sad and that they would be unhappy to be locked in there, too. She was used to being in a deep ocean.
Raffaello starts to suggest freeing her when suddenly, the ground begins to tremble as though from an earthquake. A moment later, a Modulo da trasporto drills up through the floor, breaking the aquarium. April continues reporting, telling viewers that a super tunnel drill appears to have lost its way. However, this is not the case as Shredder appears in the doorway of the drill. April says she should have known he was the artist of this disaster. Shedding their disguises, the Turtles inform her that they are already there. Shredder asks if he’s a bother and then says he’ll leave right away, but he’s taking a friend of his. A crane from the Modulo da trasporto grasps Amanda by her tail and takes her away when the vehicle reverses course. Michelangelo curses Shredder and his infernal machines and bids goodbye to Amanda. Leonardo says he’s sure they will see her again soon.
In fact, a few hours later… A monstrous Amanda, now larger than a bus, travels through the streets terrorizing people and crushing cars. The Turtles arrive and are astonished at her change, lamenting how pretty she once was. Donatello realizes this is why Shredder kidnapped her… to use her against them. He suggests standing back because they can’t fight Amanda. Shredder and his mutants watch the action from the Tecnodromo and Rocksteady calls his boss a genius, noting that the Turtles are fleeing from Amanda. Shredder says that one nail drives out another… and one turtle defeats another turtle. He then adds not to waste anymore time, because now is their chance to eliminate the Turtles forever.
Rocksteady turns to another monitor, where Bebop is waiting to hear from them. Bebop confirms that they are on the platform and have the bait for the four pizza eaters. On an oil platform, Bebop and several Ninja del clan del piede are holding a kidnapped April. She yells at them to free her because the Turtles won’t come. Bebop tells her that in fact, they are coming. In the water, the Turtles can be seen swimming towards the platform. Bebop is holding April’s Turtlecom and it’s S.O.S. button is flashing. Bebop says that the Turtles, having seen the danger signal, are rushing to the aid of their dear journalist. Raffaello tells him he’s right, because they have arrived. April calls out to her friends to be careful.
Michelangelo tells her not to be afraid, because there is no Piede born who can trip them up. Donatello says that there is someone who will soon end up with the fish. Turning towards Bebop, Michelangelo strikes him on the head with his nunchaku and says to guess who that is. Shredder abruptly appears, riding on Amanda’s carapace. He says that it will be the Turtles who end up in the sea. He has attached a helmet-like device to Amanda’s head and reins that he uses to steer her. Amanda strikes the platform, causing the Turtles to fall into the water. Shredder says first they will have a nice bath and then Amanda will liquidate them. As he hits the water, Michelangelo asks if it would be more liquid than that, which gives Donatello an idea.
Donatello tells his brothers to dive down deep and Raffaello wonders what he means. Above them, Shredder shouts at Amanda to follow them because he has a breather. He tells her to destroy them. The Turtles dive ever deeper, noting that as Turtles, they can descend to great depths without water pressure problems. Shredder suddenly realizes that he can’t handle the pressure and must return Amanda to normal size before she drags him to perdition. Soon, Amanda has been returned to normal and Bebop is hauling Shredder onto the safety of the oil platform. Leonardo says that Turtles are very strong swimmers and that someone will reflect on the lesson. Raffaello suggests they accompany Amanda for a while as she swims back home to Española.
