Summary[]
All over New York City people celebrate the countdown to the new year. Underground, in the lair, the Turtles, Splinter and April O'Neil celebrate when the clock shows midnight. The Turtles wear party hats and stand around a table covered in food. Splinter offers April the wish that her year be filled with joy. April thanks him, saying he knows how to make the best wishes. Michelangelo enters the room pushing a cart carrying a large pizza. He says they should start 1992 in a worthy way with his new pizza. Donatello and Raffaello decline, having already downed twenty-seven pizzas. Michelangelo tells them he calls this pizza “all year round” because it is garnished with 365 different ingredients. Leonardo is unable to resist, but says he’ll take just a taste. Michelangelo begins cutting the pizza and congratulates Leonardo on his bravery.
A short while later, Leonardo has managed to polish off the entire pizza. His stomach is distended and he warns everyone not to come close because his shell is about to explode. April tells them she has to go and thanks the guys for inviting her. A bloated Leonardo pushes himself off his chair and says it’s time for bed, too. Splinter tells him he will need the sleep to digest that last pizza. However, the next morning, Leonardo is abruptly awakened by loud noise. He rises to see what’s happening. Michelangelo explains that they can’t tear off the last piece of the old calendar. Raffaello is halfway up the wall tugging on the old calendar and says he can’t even get it off the wall. Leonardo grabs the 1992 calendar and says they’ll just hang the new one over the old one. To his surprise, the calendar suddenly vanishes out of his hands.
Leonardo thinks maybe it was printed on paper that was too biodegradable. Michelangelo says they can’t inaugurate the new year without a calendar. Leonardo says he’s right and they should go topside to buy another one. However, when they reach the surface, they hear several people talking about how their calendars vanished. A woman points out the electronic road calendar, which is stuck on 12-31-91. A worker states that he’s been trying to unlock it for two hours, with no luck. Leonardo muses that it seems almost like a conspiracy and wonders who’s behind it. Looking behind them, Donatello says he can guess who’s behind it.
Coming up the street behind them are their arch enemies, Krang, Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady. They are pushing a large machine covered in satellite dishes. Krang calls out to the citizenry with an important announcement. As they may have noticed, something strange has happened to their calendars this morning. An officer asks if he sabotaged them. Krang acknowledges this and says he stopped the flow of time with his fissatore cronostatico. Krang says that he intends to turn if off and return 1992 to them, as good as new. Shredder says that first the authorities will have to hand over the government of the city to them, for a start.
Krang tells them that they can take all the time they want to think about it. Shredder adds that until they do accept, not even a second will pass. Drawing his swords, Leonardo tells them that as usual, they made their plans without taking the ninjas into account. Krang greets him, and says he was waiting for him for a little test. Bebop and Rocksteady step forward, rifles in hand. Krang says that the fucili catacronici will freeze them in an instant. Leonardo says that the weak point in any weapon is the person who uses it. Bebop fires on Michelangelo, who flips out of the way, making the mutant warthog complain that if he won’t stay still, how can he paralyze him. Michelangelo laughs, observing that Bebop’s aim hasn’t improved.
Leonardo gathers the other Turtles to him and says that when he tells them… leap high. They all jump just as Bebop and Rocksteady fire, causing the pair to hit each other. Leonardo hops onto the fissatore cronostatico and says that now he wants to see the concept up close. Shredder shouts no, but he’s too late to stop Leonardo from pressing a lot of buttons, which causing the machine to explode. Leonardo informs Krang that he lost this time, too.
Krang taunts him by saying that by destroying the machine, he hasn’t cancelled its effect. Now the world is forever stuck in 1991 and everyone will know that it’s all the Turtles’ fault. An angry crowd begins to form and Leonardo is devastated. He begins pleading not to be blamed; that he didn’t know. Donatello suddenly calls out for him to wake up and Leonardo does, finding that he’s in his bed in the lair. Donatello tells him it was just a dream and that maybe he ate too much. Leonardo says it was a nightmare and then leaps up to begin chasing his brother. Donatello wants to know why he’s mad at him because he should thank him for waking him up. Leonardo says that was very kind, him and his brick of a pizza.
